This includes roof damage\r\nto an Elementary school off Glendora Ave. Damage indicators were\r\nmostly a combination of uprooted hard and softwood trees.\r\nNumerous homes had roof damage associated with felled trees. As\r\nthe tornado tracked into downtown, power lines and traffic\r\nsignals were destroyed. Significant roof damage occurred near 5th\r\nand Main St where a metal roof was completely removed. As the\r\ntornado moved out of the downtown area, numerous trees were again\r\nuprooted along 5th and 6th St. through Commons St. The tornado\r\nlifted east of Commons Street before reaching Kings Ave.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alabamawx.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/waco.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-275448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alabamawx.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/waco-600x248.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"248\" \/><\/a><\/pre>\n<pre>Rating:                 EF2\r\nEstimated Peak Wind:    115 mph\r\nPath Length \/statute\/:  3.93 miles\r\nPath Width \/maximum\/:   170 yards\r\nFatalities:             0\r\nInjuries:               1\r\n\r\nStart Date:             02\/15\/2025\r\nStart Time:             11:20 PM CST\r\nStart Location:         4 ESE Russellville \/ Franklin County \/ AL\r\nStart Lat\/Lon:          34.4791 \/ -87.6587\r\n\r\nEnd Date:               02\/15\/2025\r\nEnd Time:               11:27 PM CST\r\nEnd Location:           6 SE Littleville \/ Franklin County \/ AL\r\nEnd Lat\/Lon:            34.5136 \/ -87.6082\r\n\r\nSurvey Summary:\r\nAn NWS and Franklin County (AL) EMA survey team determined that\r\nan EF-2 tornado caused damage in central Franklin County. \r\n\r\nThe tornado quickly formed while embedded within the line of severe\r\nthunderstorms late Saturday night. It touched down just south of\r\nRussellville Rd. and east of Harris Creek. There the tornado blew\r\nout the doors of a large, metal storage shed and lofted an ATV\r\nacross the property. The tornado shifted ENE just south of\r\nRussellville Rd. and Hwy 75 where it uprooted numerous hardwood\r\ntrees, some of which fell on houses. Residents at this location\r\nreceived advanced NWS warnings and took refuge in their tornado\r\nshelter before their home was impacted. Several homes also\r\nexperienced partial roof loss further east on Russellville Rd.\r\nThe tornado shifted north Hwy 24 where the vortex contracted and\r\nstrengthened. Among uprooted hardwood trees on one property, the\r\nupper quarter of a large silo collapsed. Further east, numerous\r\ntrees were uprooted, some on houses and cars. Near Hwy 78 and Hwy\r\n83 junction, a manufactured home was impacted with roof and\r\nsiding damage. The resident was thankful for the early warning\r\nfrom the NWS as it allowed time for her family to safely seek\r\nrefuge. The tornado tracked ENE of Hwy 78 and destroyed several\r\nsmall farm buildings before impacting homes near the McGuire Loop\r\narea. Near McGuire Loop and Rocky Glen Rd., the tornado knocked\r\ndown numerous power lines in trees before completely removing the\r\nroof of one single-family residence. This is where the strongest\r\nintensity of the tornado likely occurred with a maximum wind of\r\n115 miles an hour. The tornado traveled to the NE portion of\r\nMcGuire Loop where pine trees were snapped. The tornado lifted\r\nwest of Hwy 87.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alabamawx.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Screenshot-2025-02-17-081808.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-275449\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alabamawx.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Screenshot-2025-02-17-081808-600x248.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"248\" \/><\/a><\/pre>\n<pre>Rating:                 EF1\r\nEstimated Peak Wind:    100 mph\r\nPath Length \/statute\/:  0.76 miles\r\nPath Width \/maximum\/:   30 yards\r\nFatalities:             0\r\nInjuries:               0\r\n\r\nStart Date:             02\/16\/2025\r\nStart Time:             1:05 AM CST\r\nStart Location:         3 SSE Douglas \/ Marshall County \/ AL\r\nStart Lat\/Lon:          34.133 \/ -86.3162\r\n\r\nEnd Date:               02\/16\/2025\r\nEnd Time:               1:11 AM CST\r\nEnd Location:           3 SSE Douglas \/ Marshall County \/ AL\r\nEnd Lat\/Lon:            34.136 \/ -86.3035\r\n\r\nSurvey Summary:\r\nThe tornado rapidly developed along a line of severe storms\r\nentering Southwestern Marshall County, first producing damage by\r\nsnapping several softwood trees along Mount Hebron Road. The\r\ntornado continued along this road as it approached Mount Hebron\r\nDouglas Road, snapping large softwood branches along its path.\r\nThe most concentrated damage occurred just northeast of the\r\nintersection with Mount Hebron Douglas Road, where several farm\r\noutbuildings and barns were destroyed. This was at and\r\nimmediately east of the intersection with New Clear Creek Road.\r\nHere, a power pole was snapped about 5 to 7 feet from the top of\r\nthe pole. Also at this location, a cattle trailer was overturned\r\nand moved several feet. A well-built farm outbuilding suffered\r\ncollapsed walls here at this location, and the combination of\r\nthis and the power pole led to the strongest point in this short-\r\nlived tornado: 100mph winds and 30 yards in width. The tornado\r\ncontinued northeast of this location to the farm next door,\r\ndestroying a small hay barn and another farm outbuilding across\r\nthe street. This particular building had a covered overhang and\r\nwas open on the end where the tornado approached, which\r\ncontributed to it's failing here. For this reason, the wind\r\nspeeds were lower than at the adjacent farm to the southwest. No\r\nfurther damage was noted northeast of this hay barn location\r\nbetween here and Chestnut Drive. \r\n\r\nOther damage was noted in the vicinity of Mount Hebron Road to the\r\nnorth and the south, which was mainly large branches blown down or\r\nsporadic trees here and there that were broken.
