Brent \u201cSchmitty\u201d Sapstead, Hold Out\u2019s director of brewing, shares the recipe for this American pilsner collab made with a portion of potatoes\u2014specifically, potato starch flour. Besides winning a local following, Spudweiser has earned the respect of peers: This beer won bronze in the Collaboration category at the 2024 Great American Beer Festival. <\/p>\n

Want to try it? Hold Out will have Spudweiser on tap while it hosts the second annual Pinvitational<\/a>, scheduled for March 1 in Austin. Organized in cooperation with Acopon Brewing of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Dutchess Ales of Wassaic, New York, the festival features cask-conditioned ales and lagers from more than 40 other breweries.
