This imaginary quartet still is no more (and no less) than one person: <em>Thomas B\u00fccker<\/em> from M\u00fcnster, Germany. <\/p>\n<p>The music on <strong><em>Systeme<\/em><\/strong> still presents the widescreen cinematic arrangements we\u2019ve come to expect from <strong><em>Bersarin Quartett<\/em><\/strong>. But <strong><em>Systeme <\/em><\/strong>is not simply repeating a successful formula. There are deeper layers here, a hard-to-define dimension below the surface that makes this album <em>\u2018exciting without freezing in escapism\u2019. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018Microtonal shifts, polyrhythmic structures, tempo fluctuations and sound aesthetics torn out of context create a fragile, unpredictable foundation\u2019<\/em> \u2013 but at the same time, the music feels natural and accessible. It is often associated with the simplicity, austerity, and solitude found in nature, and is said to evoke a sense of melancholy, nostalgia, and reverence for the passage of time.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The reference to <em>\u2018impermanence and decay\u2019<\/em> applies to the musical themes, not to a lo-fi production technique \u2013 on the contrary even. <strong><em>Bernocchi<\/em><\/strong><em>\u2018s<\/em> electronic soundscapes perfectly match <strong><em>Yamane<\/em><\/strong><em>\u2018s <\/em>acoustic violin parts.
