{"id":91768,"date":"2025-02-16T14:01:18","date_gmt":"2025-02-16T14:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/aerospace\/electric-startup-eviation-lays-off-staff-as-it-seeks-funding-media-reports\/"},"modified":"2025-02-16T14:01:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-16T14:01:18","slug":"electric-startup-eviation-lays-off-staff-as-it-seeks-funding-media-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=91768","title":{"rendered":"Electric startup Eviation lays off staff as it seeks funding: media reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Electric aircraft startup Eviation has laid off most of its staff, as it struggles to raise fresh funds, <a href=\"https:\/\/theaircurrent.com\/aircraft-development\/electric-airplane-eviation-lays-off-most-staff-alice\/\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\">reported The Air Current<\/a> on February 14, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to this report, which quotes Eviation\u2019s CEO Andr\u00e9 Stein, the project is not shutting down, but it had to take this measure in order to evaluate the right opportunities going forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Started in 2015 by Israeli entrepreneurs Omer Bar-Yohay, Omri Regev and Aviv Tzidon, Eviation is one of pioneers in the field of electric aviation. \u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-1\"\/>\n<p>In this decade of development, Eviation\u00a0has gone through several iterations of its original aircraft concept. A prototype of its Alice all-electric nine-seater aircraft flew for the first and, so far, only time in September 2022. The aircraft took off from Grant County International Airport (MWH), in Moses Lake, Washington, and completed an eight-minute flight, during which it reached an altitude of 3,500 feet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Eviation has undergone several top management changes, as well. The latest of these took place in December 2023, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/eviations-new-ceo-andre-stein-on-the-alice-all-electric-aircraft-video\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"follow\">Andr\u00e9 Stein<\/a>, until that moment CEO of Embraer\u2019s eVTOL arm EVE Air Mobility, took the reins of the company.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>No further details about the financial situation of the company have been disclosed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-2\"\/>\n<p>Eviation is but the latest in a string of innovative aerospace startups that have faced serious financial difficulties in early 2025. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>German eVTOL developers Lilium and Volocopter have also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/evtol-aircraft-volocopter-insolvency\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"follow\">had to file for insolvency<\/a>.
