As the country faces evolving energy challenges, his leadership continues to shape the industry&#8217;s growth through strategic investments and partnerships.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">International Leadership and Vision<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\" style=\"margin: 8px 0; clear: both;\">\n<center><a href=\"https:\/\/theminimillionaire.com\/cashback\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><picture class=\"aligncenter wp-image-53823 size-full\"><source type=\"image\/webp\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theminimillionaire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Cashback-bonus-TMM.png.webp\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theminimillionaire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Cashback-bonus-TMM.png\"\/>\n<\/picture>\n<\/a><\/center><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Khan has maintained a clear vision for Bangladesh&#8217;s development since establishing the country&#8217;s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prothomalo.com\/business\/3c30zmtqhi\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">first independent power plant<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 1998. \u201cAt that time, the biggest problem was not having electricity. Twenty percent of people had access to electricity in 1995-96,\u201d he recalls. \u201cAnd I am so humbled and so happy that we at that time started with electricity and generated electricity. Today, 100% of people have access to electricity in Bangladesh.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strategic Development and Economic Impact<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aziz Khan explains, \u201cIt was very important for Bangladesh to be able to employ its teeming millions\u2014currently 180 million. Employment could only come through industrialization. We had to move from an agrarian society to an industrial society, and electricity is a fundamental requirement for that.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under his guidance,<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/summit-power-intl\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Summit Group&#8217;s expansion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has created a portfolio that includes 18 power plants with a combined generation capacity of 2,255MW, representing approximately 17% of the country&#8217;s total private installed power generation capacity. The company employs over 6,000 people across its various infrastructure projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Future-Focused Leadership<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The energy executive emphasizes the importance of sustainable development and technological innovation. \u201cWe need to harness artificial intelligence to contain emissions to bring about re-nurturing Mother Earth so that each and every aspect of Mother Earth, from its soil to its environment, improves,\u201d he states. \u201cIt&#8217;s very intriguing and it is very challenging, but it is a must if this world is to continue to be a happier world.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Summit Power International extends beyond power generation, establishing itself in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ultraupdates.com\/2025\/01\/how-incorporating-in-singapore-allowed-summit-group-to-provide-low-cost-electricity-in-bangladesh\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">multiple sectors<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including ports, fiber optics, and information technology. Khan&#8217;s strategic decision to incorporate in Singapore has enabled the company to access international financial markets and attract significant foreign investment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Corporate Governance and International Standards<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Bangladesh&#8217;s infrastructure leader, the company maintains high standards of corporate governance, operating under both Bangladesh and Singapore regulations. This dual-market presence has helped forge critical international partnerships, including with Japan&#8217;s JERA Co., which acquired a 22% stake in Summit Power International in 2019.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Khan&#8217;s leadership philosophy emphasizes the importance of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/sustainability\/bangladeshs-summit-group-invest-3-bln-clean-energy-push-2023-09-08\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sustainable development and corporate responsibility<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cThe creation of wealth should not be only for personal gain and pleasure, but also for improvement of humanity,\u201d he asserts, highlighting Summit Group&#8217;s commitment to contributing to Bangladesh&#8217;s economic growth while maintaining high standards of corporate governance.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beyond power generation, the company operates Bangladesh&#8217;s second Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) and LNG import terminal, with a capacity of 500 million cubic feet per day.
