{"id":88824,"date":"2025-02-15T02:20:27","date_gmt":"2025-02-15T02:20:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/recipes\/category-a-b\/barbecue\/an-ugly-guys-barbecue-tips-bub-n-muthas\/"},"modified":"2025-02-15T02:20:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-15T02:20:27","slug":"an-ugly-guys-barbecue-tips-bub-n-muthas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=88824","title":{"rendered":"An Ugly Guy&#8217;s Barbecue Tips \u2013 Bub \u2019n Mutha&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">As someone who spent time living in Maine, I can appreciate those of you feeling the temps changing almost daily.\u00a0 There are times when I actually miss the crisp autumn air and the change in cooking methods you can use.\u00a0 While I now live in a climate where barbecue can be done 12 months a year, my northern neighbors are starting to roll the grills and smokers into the shed or the garage to hibernate.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">While some may weather the change and be cooking outside in frigid temps, I have some ideas for those who are switching to a winter menu and staying indoors.\u00a0 Barbecue doesn\u2019t have to be put away with the grills.\u00a0 While you may sacrifice the \u201csmoke ring\u201d, you can still enjoy that amazing and unique flavor that can only come from well prepared \u201cQ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">One huge advantage to indoor barbecue is temperature control.\u00a0 Once something goes in the oven, as long as you don\u2019t open the door, the temp is constant.\u00a0 Another is side dishes.\u00a0 You can create, prepare and cook amazing side dishes right alongside your main course. So, this month, let\u2019s do some easy chicken. (I\u2019m a thigh guy, but this works on all cuts of the bird)<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Start with a simple baking sheet<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Place as many chicken thighs on it as you like. (I do a whole bunch and have some later in the week for lunch).\u00a0 I do them with the skin on but you can do as you like.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">For those who like mild, season the thighs with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/products\/chixx-dig-it\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/products\/chixx-dig-it\">Bub \u2018n Mutha\u2019s Chixx Dig<\/a> It or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/products\/chixx-dig-it-copy\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/products\/chixx-dig-it-copy\">DownEast Dinnah Dust.<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">If you like a bit of a bite, you can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/products\/downeast-dinnah-dust-copy-copy\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/products\/downeast-dinnah-dust-copy-copy\">Bub \u2018n Mutha\u2019s Honey \u2018n Heat<\/a> and for a bit more spice and a touch of the Caribbean, try our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/products\/bango-mango-copy-1\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/products\/bango-mango-copy-1\">Bango Mango<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Heat the oven to 250 degrees, place the sheet on the middle rack and close the oven.\u00a0 Find something to do for 2 hours and come back to a nice smelling, comfortably warm kitchen and some amazing BBQ chicken.\u00a0 If you like barbecue sauce, apply it to the chicken and place back in the oven for about 10-15 minutes to let the sauce set up.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><strong data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Side of the month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">There are so many things that can go with your chicken, just depends on your state of mind.\u00a0 When I was living up in Maine, usually after the 2<sup data-mce-fragment=\"1\">nd<\/sup> heavy snow, I was thinking about how long it would take until the weather was nice.\u00a0 If that\u2019s you, you\u2019ll enjoy this side dish.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Bacon &amp; Onion Macaroni Salad<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">1 box elbow noodles (If you can find the giant elbows, use them)<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">4 strips of bacon<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">1 Vidalia Onion chopped<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Mayonnaise to taste<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Your favorite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/collections\/all\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.bubnmuthas.com\/collections\/all\">Bub \u2018n Mutha\u2019s Gourmet Dry Rub<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Coat the bacon with your favorite Bub \u2018n Mutha\u2019s Gourmet Dry Rub and let I sit until the rub has bonded with each bacon strip.\u00a0 Then, cook as you usually cook your bacon, but make it crisp.\u00a0 Once finished and cooled, crumble the bacon up and set aside.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-fragment=\"1\">Boil your elbows according to the directions on the box but add the chopped onions so they cook together.\u00a0 When done, drain and apply cool water until the noodles are no longer hot to touch.\u00a0 Pour half the mix into a container and add mayonnaise to taste.\u00a0 Sprinkle with some of the bacon crumble, mix and repeat for the other half. Mix it all together until well blended.
