Growing up in New Zealand where the Queen is still the official head of state, our newspapers and magazines were\u00a0<em>always<\/em>\u00a0filled with the latest royal developments \u2013 and gossip.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong><em>With Queen Elizabeth\u2019s recent passing, it\u2019s been interesting to see how even in America, her life and legacy has been celebrated.<\/em><\/strong> From flags being flown at half mast and digital billboards paying their respects, to a special Netflix channel just dedicated to documentaries about her life and TikTok ablaze with remembrance montages, it seems Americans &#8211; and the rest of the world are also feeling her loss.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Similarly, if you walk the streets of London, you\u2019ll be inundated with stores in deep mourning, shrouded in black, selling special-commemorative-edition <em>everything<\/em> from stuffed bears to shortbread tins and fluffy slippers bearing images of not just Queen Elizabeth, but all members of the royal family, including the newly crowned (and controversial) King and Queen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>In every sense the royal family, is a global brand and <em>a global business.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/the-royal-familys-brand-is-worth-675-billion-2017-11?op=1\">Business Insider<\/a>, the royal family contributes nearly $2.4 billion to the UK economy every year, the majority of the money created by the royal family is through tourism, and the royal brand is worth a total of $89.3 billion &#8211; making it one of the world\u2019s most valuable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Like any global brand &#8211; for example Nike, Louis Vuitton or even Apple, the British Royal family (brand) has had its fair share of ups and downs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Every royal misstep and scandal is beamed instantly around the world &#8211; from Prince Andrew\u2019s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, to Megan Markle and Harry\u2019s mass exodus to America, to Prince Charles (now King) marrying his mistress, Camilla (now Queen), the \u201cthird woman\u201d in his marriage with Princess Diana.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">You can\u2019t make this stuff up. No wonder the royals continue to captivate and intrigue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>But with the Queen\u2019s departure to the pearly gates, the British royal family and the monarchy is attack. <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6212008\/king-charles-iii-controversy-past\/\"><strong>King Charles and his Queen are far from popular.<\/strong> <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Will the British royal family and their power brand survive through these modern times?<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">If history is anything to go by, somehow the British Royal family endures every scandal and their brand still manages to\u00a0<em>thrive<\/em>\u00a0despite it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">It\u2019s a great lesson for all of us on\u00a0<strong>how to build a resilient brand in fast-changing times.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Let me break it down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m not sure how closely you follow the British Royal family.
