<\/a> (Beth Clifton collage)<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n CINCINNATI, Ohio\u2013\u2013<\/strong>Warren Houston,\u00a0 45,\u00a0 whose three pit bulls on December 27,\u00a0 2024 killed his biological daughter,\u00a0 three-year-old Kingsley Renee Wright,\u00a0 was on February 11,\u00a0 2025 indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury for involuntary manslaughter, \u00a0reckless homicide,\u00a0 and endangering children.<\/p>\n Wright was on her first overnight visit to the Houston home in the Roselawn district on the north side of Cincinnati, \u00a0Ohio.<\/p>\n A family member told ANIMALS 24-7<\/strong>\u00a0on January 9,\u00a0 2025 that Houston only learned he was Wright\u2019s father in September 2024.<\/p>\n Houston to that point had not been identified in media coverage and online accounts by multiple friends and family members.<\/p>\n <\/a> (Beth Clifton collage)<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n \u201cAccording to 911 call recordings and police documents,\u201d\u00a0 wrote Quinlan Bentley and David Ferrara for the February 12,\u00a0 2025 edition of the Cincinnati Enquirer<\/em>,\u00a0 Houston \u201ccalled Cincinnati police at 7:50 a.m., \u00a0just after he reported waking up. He said he walked into the living room and found Kingsley lying dead on the floor.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s completely tore apart,\u201d Houston told the dispatcher.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter giving his daughter\u2019s description to the dispatcher,\u201d\u00a0 Bentley and Ferrara resumed, \u00a0\u201cwho told him to put away any pets in the home before officers arrived, \u00a0Kingsley\u2019s father said they had terriers, \u00a0and that the dogs were already in their cages.<\/p>\n \u201cHe told the dispatcher that there was one other person in the apartment and they woke up at the same time,\u201d\u00a0 Bentley and Ferrara recounted.\u00a0 \u201cHouston said there did not appear to be a break-in because the front door to the apartment was locked.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/a> (Beth Clifton collage)<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n Claimed Houston to the dispatcher,\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t understand what went on,\u201d \u00a0Houston said.<\/p>\n Finished Bentley and Ferrara,\u00a0 \u201cHouston was not listed as an inmate at the Hamilton County Justice Center as of Wednesday morning. \u00a0It is currently unclear when he will make his first court appearance.\u201d<\/p>\n Two days after Wright was killed,\u00a0 a poster to the Facebook page of WLWT television in Cincinnati who identified herself as \u201cNicky Lane,\u201d\u00a0 from Lebanon,\u00a0 Tennessee,\u00a0 said \u201cHe is in jail,\u201d\u00a0 apparently meaning Houston,\u00a0 but did not specify who \u201che\u201d was,\u00a0 or cite a source for the information.\u00a0 No arrest associated with the fatal attack on Kingsley Wright had been reported.<\/p>\n (See Pit bull victim Kingsley Wright, age 3, was 70th dog attack death of 2024<\/a>.)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/a> (Beth Clifton collage)<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n In Circleville, \u00a0106 miles northeast across Ohio on I-71,\u00a0 son and mother Adam and Susan Withers,\u00a0 ages 35 and 61, \u00a0are as of the evening of February 12,\u00a0 2025 awaiting a jury verdict on charges of involuntary manslaughter and owning a dangerous dog,\u00a0 brought against them after the Withers\u2019 two pit bulls killed neighbor JoAnn Echelbarger in her flower bed on October 17,\u00a0 2024.<\/p>\n One of the pit bulls was shot by the first responding police officer,\u00a0 in order for him to approach Echelbarger.\u00a0 The other pit bull ran away,\u00a0 killed another dog near Teays Valley East Middle School,\u00a0 menacing the owner,\u00a0 and was finally run over by a Pickway County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputy,\u00a0 but survived until shot by the deputy \u201cin the vicinity of a park and another residence, \u00a0which included a dog outside in the yard,\u201d\u00a0 according to an Ashville Police Department media statement.<\/p>\n <\/a> (Beth Clifton collage)<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n Between September 8,\u00a0 2020 and January 2024,\u00a0 reported Adam Conn for WCMH in Columbus,\u00a0 Ohio,\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cSusan and Adam Withers received as many as seven warnings from their home owners\u2019 association, \u00a0or lawyers representing The Reserve at Ashton Village, \u00a0in Ashville.\u201d<\/p>\n One of the warnings,\u00a0 Conn detailed,\u00a0 came after the pit bulls killed another dog.<\/p>\n Despite the Withers\u2019 contention that the pit bulls were \u201cservice dogs,\u201d\u00a0 a Pickaway County Court of Common Pleas judge on September 11,\u00a0 2024 ordered that both pit bulls be removed \u201cimmediately and permanently.\u201d<\/p>\n The two pit bulls killed Echelbarger five weeks later.<\/p>\n <\/a> (Beth Clifton collage)<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n \u201cAdam Withers has previously been charged with owning a dangerous dog twice, \u00a0facing two counts in May 2024 and one count in December. 2023,\u201d\u00a0 Conn continued.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was also charged with owning an unconfined dog in October 2023. \u00a0The dangerous dog charges were dismissed in court, with prosecutors citing insufficient evidence, \u00a0while the defendant paid a fine for the unconfined dog charge and waived his right to a trial.<\/p>\n \u201cSusan Withers,\u201d\u00a0 Conn said,\u00a0 \u201chad no prior charges related to dog ownership.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/a> Ada Dolores Woolverton. 2025,\u00a0 all involving pit bulls,\u00a0 who at this writing have inflicted all 16 of the 16 most recent dog attack deaths.<\/p>\n The multiple dogs responsible for the December 18,\u00a0 2024 death of Ada Delores Woolverton, 88, fatally mauled in her own yard at the edge of Rockdale,\u00a0 Texas, \u00a0have not yet been publicly identified.<\/p>\n Neighbors alleged on social media that the dogs all belonged to a neighbor and were running at large.<\/p>\n The location is about 2,000 feet by road from the Rockdale Dog Shelter & Dog Park,\u00a0 suggesting the possibility of dumped dogs or runaways having attacked Woolverton,\u00a0 who for more than 35 years was a medication assistant at a local nursing home.<\/p>\n The Milam County Sheriff\u2019s Office said only that, \u00a0\u201cDeputies responded to a residence in the 500 block of Beverly Drive and discovered her body,\u201d\u00a0 but another neighbor specified in a social media comment that the dogs came from 523 Beverly Drive.<\/p>\n The listed resident at 523 Beverly Drive,\u00a0 Larry Joe Jackson,\u00a0 64,\u00a0 appears on multiple lists of registered sex offenders.<\/p>\n The dogs allegedly Wahiawa,\u00a0 Hawaii have likewise been quiet about a January 28,\u00a0 2025 fatal pit bull attack on a yet to be publicly identified eight-year-old boy,\u00a0 described as having \u201cintellectual disabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n The death was announced five days later.<\/p>\n \u201cAccording to Honolulu police, \u00a0the incident happened just after 11 a.m. at a home in the 100 block of Ohai Street,\u201d\u00a0 reported Allyson Blair for Hawaii News Now<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cLaw enforcement sources told HNN Investigates the attack was captured on a home surveillance system,\u201d\u00a0 Blair continued.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re told the child appeared to be alone, \u00a0unattended, \u00a0in a neighbor\u2019s yard when he was mauled by a large dog who was on a chain.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen help arrived, \u00a0the boy didn\u2019t have a pulse. \u00a0First responders managed to revive him and rushed him to the hospital with severe injuries to his head and neck,\u201d\u00a0 Blair on February 3,\u00a0 2025,\u201d\u00a0 reported Ashleigh Quintana for KOAA in Colorado Springs,\u00a0 Colorado,\u00a0 four days later.<\/p>\n \u201cInside the residence,\u201d\u00a0 Quintana said,\u00a0 \u201cpolice found \u2018several dogs loose inside the home along with at least a dozen more dogs in cages,\u2019\u201d\u00a0 who were impounded \u201cby the Sheriff\u2019s Office in collaboration with Animal Law Enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n The Sheriff\u2019s Office \u201cworked with Animal Law Enforcement to seize numerous dogs from the home and a related property,\u201d\u00a0 \u2018extremely\u2019 aggressive and not fully secured by her harness.<\/p>\n \u201cPolice said they later discovered that a neighbor attempted to help the owner during the dogfight and was bitten on the hand,\u201d\u00a0 Leonard relayed.<\/p>\n \u201cOne person was taken to the hospital and both dogs were secured by the Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region, \u00a0according to police,\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0former bankruptcy attorney Jessica Lee Hoff,\u00a0 47.<\/p>\n According to court records,\u00a0 \u201cIn May 2022, \u00a0the State Bar of Texas disbarred Hoff for engaging in professional misconduct. \u00a0The discipline was effective on May 23, 2022. \u00a0Hoff did not alert Colorado disciplinary authorities about her Texas disbarment.\u201d<\/p>\n On August 4,\u00a0 2022,\u00a0 Jessica Hoff was \u201carrested by the Fremont County Sheriff\u2019s Office on a U.S. Marshal Hold.\u201d<\/p>\n On April 27,\u00a0 2023,\u00a0 Jessica Hoff was disbarred in Colorado for possessing more than fifteen dogs,\u00a0 cats,\u00a0 or combination thereof,\u00a0 in a central location,\u00a0 without a Colorado Pet Care & Animal Facilities Act permit.<\/p>\n Further developments reportedly \u201cwhile feeding a pack of dogs as their owner was out of town.\u201d<\/p>\n While her name was not released,\u00a0 her age,\u00a0 date of death,\u00a0 and location of death match.<\/p>\n The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff\u2019s Office,\u00a0 NorthStar Emergency Medical Services,\u00a0 and the Echola Volunteer Fire Department all responded to a 911 call circa 9:00 a.m. about the pack attacking a woman in front of a property in the 13000 block of rural Boyd Road,\u00a0 Captain Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit told media.<\/p>\n \u201cThe mauling occurred in the yard and on the property that the dogs belonged to. \u00a0The woman came to the residence to feed the dogs for the owner who was out of town, Kennedy said,\u201d\u00a0 wrote Jasmine Hollie for family,\u201d in multiple variants involving names of deceased persons not being released,\u00a0 was occasionally used in reports of suicides between 1880 and 1924,\u00a0 but dropped out of print thereafter until 2011,\u00a0 when it abruptly and frequently reappeared in accounts of dog attack deaths\u2013\u2013mostly pit bull attack deaths involving family members.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit conducted an investigation at the scene. \u00a0They discovered that the dogs belonged to the residence, \u00a0where the woman was visiting to feed the animals while their owner was
