ELIF YALVA\u00c7 \u2013 VECTION<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Moving Furniture Records<\/a>, <\/em>the unstoppable and persistent Dutch label for electronic and experimental music, runs a sub-series named Eliane Tapes<\/a>.<\/em> Named, of course, after \u00c9liane Radigue<\/a><\/em>, whose work inspired many artists in the field of drone or minimal electronic music. \u00c9liane<\/em> herself gave her approval to the series, which is a quality trademark in itself.<\/p>\n

Elif Yalva\u00e7<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\u2018s Vection<\/em><\/strong> is the seventh release in this series and is the first one released on CD (previous titles were released on cassette). Yalva\u00e7<\/a><\/em><\/strong> holds an MA degree in Sonic arts (from Istanbul Technical University), and currently works in the UK teaching electronic music in London and Electronic Music Composition at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). She has always found inspiration in women artists, Eliane Radigue<\/em> and the composition L\u2019\u00cele Resonante <\/em>in particular. <\/p>\n

Her music embraces opposites: \u2018microsound glitches and slow builds; celestial beauty and abrasive energy\u2019<\/em>. While heavily influenced by (and dedicated to) Eliane Radigue<\/em>, Vection<\/em><\/strong> is far more \u2018dynamic\u2019 (I could even say \u2018dramatic\u2019) than Radigue\u2019s <\/em>drone works.
To create her music, Elif<\/em><\/strong> uses MAX\/MSP patches to \u2018process the sounds usually with granular synthesis, FM synthesis, and wavetable synthesis\u2019<\/em>, also adding electric guitar, some field recordings, and sounds from her Game Boy.
The titles refer to \u2018sky objects and physical phenomena as well as events that affect me in my life as I observe my environment\u2019<\/em>, and while the 33 minutes are divided into five tracks, they can (and should) be heard as one single composition.<\/p>\n
