Sewell, AL-07, joined House Democrats last Friday to introduce the Taxpayer Data Protection Act. The legislation is a direct response to \u201cElon Musk\u2019s shameful invasion of Americans\u2019 privacy. It will stop people with conflicts of interest or without a security clearance from accessing the highly sensitive Treasury Department payment system which is responsible for Social Security and Medicare benefits,\u201d the press release stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cElon Musk\u2019s takeover of the federal payment system is a dangerous invasion of the privacy of every American, and House Democrats are taking action to stop it,\u201d\u00a0said Rep.
