PJS \u2013 FLORA<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The PJS<\/em><\/strong> duo (<\/em>Patrick Dique<\/em><\/strong> and Jordan Cristoff<\/em><\/strong>)<\/em> have released quite some albums since their first release in 2015. Almost every single one was released on a different label \u2013 this is their first release on Dronarivm<\/a>.<\/em> <\/p>\n

The album is introduced with a quote from Hildegardis Bingensis<\/em> (also known as Hildegard von Bingen)<\/em>. I am not sure about her relation to this music (Hildegard<\/em> is known for many things \u2013 music, poetry, and philosophy among them), but since this album is called Flora<\/em><\/strong> I assume that it refers to her botanical writings.<\/p>\n

All of these (four) tracks are recorded live \u2018without computer sounds or screens\u2019<\/em>. It would have been nice to hear some more about the process involved here, but we\u2019ll have to do with the music itself. Which is warm, immersive, and sometimes sounds a bit nostalgic like classic ambient from the 90s. <\/p>\n

Not exactly \u2018terrible with the terror of avenging lightning\u2019<\/em>, like in the Bingensis <\/em>quote, but definitely \u2018gentle with the goodness of the bright sun\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n
