{"id":72274,"date":"2025-02-06T21:51:10","date_gmt":"2025-02-06T21:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/business\/legal\/white-case-breaks-3bn-revenue-barrier-while-pep-jumps-27\/"},"modified":"2025-02-06T21:51:10","modified_gmt":"2025-02-06T21:51:10","slug":"white-case-breaks-3bn-revenue-barrier-while-pep-jumps-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=72274","title":{"rendered":"White &#038; Case breaks $3bn revenue barrier while PEP jumps 27%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-swiftype-name=\"body\" data-swiftype-type=\"text\">\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legal500.com\/firms\/51054-white-case-llp\/r-england\/rankings\">White &amp; Case<\/a> has kicked off the US financial reporting season with a 12.5% increase in global revenue to $3.32bn for 2024 and a 27% increase in profit per equity partner (PEP), surpassing $4m for the first time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Revenue per lawyer (RPL) increased by 10.6%, rising from $1.16m to $1.28m, driven by strong growth in key practice areas such as antitrust, commercial litigation, debt finance, and M&amp;A.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Speaking to\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Legal Business<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, vice chair and former London head\u00a0Oliver Brettle\u00a0said: \u20182024 was a very successful year with strong financial results and growth across the three regions of the firm, achieving record global financial results. We\u2019ve had the strongest PEP and RPL in our history and we\u2019ve continued to invest in the partnership at the same time.\u2019<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On seeing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalbusiness.co.uk\/blogs\/white-case-nears-3bn-mark-as-expense-control-drives-double-digit-pep-hike\/\">almost triple the revenue growth from last year<\/a>, Brettle added: \u2018A year is always quite a short period of time. It\u2019s always correct to say you shouldn\u2019t just look at one set of results, but at a five-year trend, and that\u2019s the important point. It\u2019s focusing hard on doing the right work for the right clients, and the strength of the global firm is really behind this success.\u2019<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>White &amp; Case put its revenue up by 52% in the last five years, with PEP up 54%, RPL up 29%, and total lawyer headcount up 18%.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Globally, the firm made 47 lateral hires in 2024 and 42 partner promotions effective from 1 January 2024, with a further 37 partner promotions effective 1 January 2025 \u2013 despite a drop of 7.6% in the number of equity partners. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2018We are continuing to invest in the firm\u2019s partnership, including internal promotions and lateral partner hires,\u2019 said Brettle. \u2018We are going to continue to invest in our talent as you would expect.\u2019<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">London turnover rose to $554m, a 25% increase from last year\u2019s $444m, which Inigo Esteve, executive partner of the firm\u2019s London office since November 2023, told <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">LB<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> was driven by growth across \u2018all of the major areas\u2019 in the City office.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Esteve highlighted key London lateral hires, including former head of London finance Emma Russell from Haynes &amp; Boone and secondaries partner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalbusiness.co.uk\/blogs\/draft-revolving-doorsomelveny-myers-and-hogan-lovells-lead-londons-private-equity-hiring-wave-with-dual-appointments\/\">Alex Chauvin from Ropes &amp; Gray<\/a>, as well as the arrivals of M&amp;A partner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalbusiness.co.uk\/blogs\/white-case-hires-ao-shearmans-browne-as-latham-raids-weil\/\">Richard Browne from A&amp;O Shearman<\/a> and IT and telecoms partner<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalbusiness.co.uk\/blogs\/revolving-doors-white-case-hires-travers-technology-head-as-fried-frank-makes-double-hire\/\"> Dan Reavill from Linklaters<\/a> this year.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On London hires in the pipeline, Brettle added: \u2018We are always looking at opportunities in the market, we remain an attractive destination for high quality lateral talent in the market and we continue to be open to looking investing in our partnership.\u2019<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalbusiness.co.uk\/blogs\/embargoed-11am-white-case-breaks-3bn-revenue-barrier-with-double-digit-growth-in-revenue-and-pep\/mailto:elisha.juttla@legalease.co.uk\">elisha.juttla@legalease.co.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>White &amp; Case has kicked off the US financial reporting season with a 12.5% increase in global revenue to $3.32bn for 2024 and a 27% increase in profit per equity partner (PEP), surpassing $4m for the first time.
