{"id":72228,"date":"2025-02-06T21:11:39","date_gmt":"2025-02-06T21:11:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/aerospace\/akasa-air-secures-new-funding-from-investor-consortium\/"},"modified":"2025-02-06T21:11:39","modified_gmt":"2025-02-06T21:11:39","slug":"akasa-air-secures-new-funding-from-investor-consortium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=72228","title":{"rendered":"Akasa Air secures new funding from investor consortium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Akasa Air has secured new funding from \u201cmarquee investors\u201d designed to inject fresh capital into the low-cost-carrier in its efforts to become one of the top 30 airlines in the world by the end of the decade\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On February 6, 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/tag\/akasa-air\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Akasa Air<\/a> said it welcomed new financial commitments from a consortium that includes Premji Invest (the global investment arm of Azim Premji), Claypond Capital (the investment office of Dr Ranjan Pai) and funds managed by 360 ONE Asset.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While separately the Jhunjhunwala family has also committed to additional funding for Akasa Air. All the agreements are subject to regulatory approval, according to Akasa Air.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are not just financial transactions, they are an investment in our vision and commitment to building an airline for generations. We are thankful to our marquee investors for placing their confidence in Akasa Air and its leadership and to the Jhunjhunwala family for their unwavering faith in the Akasian dream,\u201d said Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO, Akasa Air.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dube added: \u201cThese investment agreements will empower us to build on the future that every Akasian has envisioned \u2013 one that\u2019s bright for each of us as well as for all of India, as we transform the way customers experience air travel.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The carrier said the funding will be used to \u201cpower Akasa Air\u2019s ambitious growth plans\u201d and to invest in customer experience and employee work environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-1\"\/>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/profile\/azim-premji\/\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\">Forbes<\/a> Premji Invest owner Azim Premji is the 165<sup>th<\/sup> richest person in the world with a fortune estimated at $12 billion while Dr Ranjan Pai is thought to have amassed wealth worth $2.7 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The publication said that Premji is thought to be one of the world\u2019s most generous billionaires having donated $21 billion to his charitable foundation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Akasa Air, there is nothing that we do for the short term.
