The extensive study, published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwnc.cdc.gov\/eid\/article\/26\/10\/20-1315_article\">Centers For Disease Control and Prevention<\/a>, states that household transmission of the virus<a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/syndication\/children-aged-10-19-spread-coronavirus-just-as-much-as-adults-new-study-finds\"> \u201cwas high\u201d<\/a> for those between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/syndication\/children-aged-10-19-spread-coronavirus-just-as-much-as-adults-new-study-finds\">10 and 19 years old<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Household transmission rates were lower for patients <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/syndication\/children-aged-10-19-spread-coronavirus-just-as-much-as-adults-new-study-finds\">aged 0 to 9<\/a>. Researchers examined reports for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/syndication\/children-aged-10-19-spread-coronavirus-just-as-much-as-adults-new-study-finds\">59,073 contacts of 5,706 coronavirus patients<\/a> in South Korea between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/syndication\/children-aged-10-19-spread-coronavirus-just-as-much-as-adults-new-study-finds\">January 20 and March 27<\/a>.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsph.harvard.edu\/ashish-jha\/\"> Dr. Ashish Jha<\/a>, director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/07\/18\/health\/coronavirus-children-schools.html\"><em>The New York Times<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>that this study is one of the best to date concerning the coronavirus and transmission of the disease.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results arrive as school officials across the nation determine whether or not to reopen schools for the upcoming year. The South Korean study said that the researchers&#8217; findings of coronavirus transmission during school reopenings emphasize the need for a time-sensitive epidemiologic study to safeguard public health policy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study also indicated the effectiveness of contact tracing, especially in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.health.com\/syndication\/children-aged-10-19-spread-coronavirus-just-as-much-as-adults-new-study-finds\">light of future waves of SARS-CoV-2<\/a>, that will rely heavily upon <a href=\"https:\/\/wordofhealth.com\/2020\/04\/02\/is-social-distancing-helping-californians\/\">social distancing<\/a> and personal hygiene as primary factors for preventative measures.
