Allocations that sat in barrel through the warm, early 2026 harvest are landing now:<\/strong> Napa mailing-list Cabernets, Bolgheri\u2019s newest single-vineyard Franc, Australia\u2019s anniversary Grange, and a handful of global icons priced against their own back vintages. The thread running through them is limited volume and a story that starts in the vineyard, not the press kit.<\/p>\n

Castello di Bolgheri Barinca 2021, Bolgheri Superiore DOC<\/h3>\n

Release:<\/strong> select U.S. markets beginning October 2026. Suggested retail $399.99.<\/p>\n

First bottling of the estate\u2019s flagship, 100 percent Cabernet Franc, made only in exceptional vintages. Single vineyard on limestone- and gravel-rich soils between Tenuta San Guido and Ornellaia. Hot, dry 2021 summer tempered by sea breezes. Production: 2,500 bottles and about 150 magnums. Monica Larner 95; Aldo Fiordelli 97. Eucalyptus, restrained cassis, macerated violets, earth, silky tannins. Drink from 2026.<\/p>\n

Unoaked, lees-aged, pear, passion fruit, and citrus. Featured in October Virginia Wine Month tastings.<\/p>\n

October\u2019s new bottles fall into two piles:<\/strong> the famous ones, and the small batches you have to be on a list to get. Opus One 2023 is the standout of the famous group. It costs less than several older vintages that critics liked just as much. Barinca 2021 is the hard one to find. It is the first year of this wine, only 2,500 bottles were made, and it is a Cabernet Franc from a single vineyard in Bolgheri, Italy, tucked between two of the region\u2019s best-known estates.<\/p>\n

Masseto, Grange, and Se\u00f1a are the other big international releases. Arietta, Vineyard 29, Tierra Roja, and Mercury Head are the Napa bottles most likely to sell out through winery clubs. The wines from cooler or later harvests, including Grange 2022 and Vineyard 29\u2019s 2023 Cabernet, will taste better after a few years in the cellar than they will this weekend. Grab the club bottles if you can actually get them. For the rest, wait until the price makes sense.<\/p>\n
