Former Premier League star Emile Heskey believes Leicester City midfielder Louis Page can step up to the English top-flight with Manchester United or Arsenal in future.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer. United had the upper hand over Arsenal<\/a> in the pursuit, but a deal did not materialise.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with 10bet, Heskey said that he has ‘absolutely no doubts’ about whether Page can make the step up to the Premier League with United or Arsenal.<\/p>\n

He added that the youngster is a ‘fantastic’ ball-playing midfielder, but feels he should stay with the Foxes to develop further before considering a move to one of those clubs.<\/p>\n

Heskey said: “Can Louis Page make the step up to the Premier League? 100%. I have absolutely no doubts about it. <\/p>\n

“He’s a player that can step up to the Premier League [with Man Utd or Arsenal]. He’s a fantastic athlete, he’s a fantastic ball player, and it’s great to see Leicester still producing players like that.<\/p>\n

“The reality is, going to Man United or Arsenal as an 18-year-old, you\u2019re not going to be playing the same minutes that you are going to be playing at Leicester. <\/p>\n

“You’re going to be playing with better players, which will enhance you as well, but that first-team football and the pressures and the demands that come with that, even in League One, is great for a young footballer’s development. <\/p>\n

“He\u2019ll play a lot of games this season, and that’s what he needs.”<\/p>\n

Page has a long road ahead to prove his credentials<\/h3>\n

The England Under-20 international had his breakout season with the Foxes in the Championship last term. He is now playing in the English third tier with the east Midlands side.<\/p>\n

Page has had a good start to the season with three assists in eight appearances. He has impressed with his distribution, completing 88 percent of his passes as a holding midfielder.<\/p>\n

The teenager has likewise caught the eye with his recovery pace and duel-winning ability, but there is a huge gap in quality between League One and the Premier League.<\/p>\n

United are likely to return for Page at the turn of the year. The Foxes wanted \u00a315 million for the player this summer. Talks were advanced, but a move collapsed on deadline day<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils obviously believe in Page’s potential and could make a fresh approach this winter. If he joins, he could initially play for the academy before making the step up.<\/p>\n
