Full Time Sales Representative and Account Manager

Job Description

Full job description

Departed Soles Brewing Company, located in Downtown Jersey City, New Jersey, is looking to hire a Full Time Sales Representative and Account Manager.

Open for 11 years, Departed Soles operates a 7 barrel brew house paired with five 15 Barrel fermenters, a 20 Barrel Fermenter, and a Cask mACS canning line, with a growing distribution network that already includes 17 different states, and a production capacity exceeding 1,200 Barrels.

While Departed Soles is most known for our gluten free beer, the Jersey City Lagers & Ales Team also products #DefinitelyNotGlutenFree beer, and operates with a proprietary cleaning process throughout its facility. We are searching for a Full Time Team Member to assist in all the daily tasks involved in our brewery.

The Departed Sales Representative and Account Management Position is a unique one, as we pride ourselves in operating a small, but efficient, hard working, self-starting team. We firmly believe that in order to sell our beer, you need to have a firm grasp not only on why we make what we do, but who we are, and the story behind our liquid. We also believe in work-life balance, and thus cross-competency is key throughout the brewery to allow everyone to thrive.

Qualified candidates should be well versed in craft beer with some industry or hospitality experience or equivalent experience in a similar sales and marketing position.

Candidates who have experience in direct beer sales to on and off premise accounts preferred. A clean driving record and criminal record is required, as is your own vehicular transportation.

The Departed Soles Sales Representative and Account Management roll will cover the entire State of New Jersey. Several days of the week will be spent in the brewery contacting our vast array of accounts, while 50 – 75% of the week will be spent on the road making contact with accounts.

The ability to lift/carry up to 150lbs (a half barrel of beer), and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and some occasional travel is also required. Occasional help with packaging beer is a part of this job.

The responsibilities including creating and maintaining strong relationships with on and off premise retailers, managing inventory levels and product allocations, and setting up and marketing on and off premise events in addition to working regular tastings and festivals. The Sales Representative and Account Manager is required to manage and attend a minimum of twelve off-premise events (tastings, tap takeovers, festivals, etc.) throughout the year.

All candidates must be able to work under minimal supervision while meeting sales goals and account management expectation, so self-starting and high motivation levels are an absolute must, as well as ability to work around flowing taps while maintaining responsibility and professionalism at all times.

Ideal candidates live in or around Jersey City.

Further responsibilities include:

Maintaining and growing sales at on and off premise accounts throughout the State of New Jersey
Scheduling regular meetings with accounts and sampling buyers and teams on products
Organizing and hosting events off-premise
Merchandising packaged goods within accounts as needed
Accountability for account performance
Coordinating and working at Beer Festivals
Coordinating and working with delivery drivers to ensure timely placement of all products throughout the State of New Jersey
Must be able to work flexible hours including rare/occasional weekends
Must be able to represent the company in a professional manner
Must exhibit strong organizational and communication skills
Clean driving and criminal record is required, please do not apply if you cannot pass the required background check
Ability to operate with minimal supervision
Strong time management skills

Compensation:

Pay is commensurate with experience and Departed Soles is committed to working with candidates to find the format (hourly, salary, revenue sharing, etc.) that is most comfortable for them. We would expect compensation to be between $40,000 – $60,000, depending on experience level. Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance are provided to all full-time employees after 3 months of employment. Please include your desired salary range with your application and cover letter.

This position is full-time, on-site at our Jersey City, NJ brewery location. Employees must provide their own transportation to work.

This job description, requirements, and tasks above are reflective of the primary duties of this position and in no way limit Ownership, Management, or Supervisors from assigning any other duties, responsibilities or initiatives as deemed necessary.
