You are not infinite. You are not God. You are a beautifully finite human being with needs, limits, and sacred rhythms.<\/p>\n
You don\u2019t have to be everything for everyone. You don\u2019t have to hold it all together. You don\u2019t have to earn your rest.<\/p>\n
If you were taught that it\u2019s noble to suffer in silence or that rest is selfish, you\u2019re not alone. Many of us learned that good people \u201cpush through,\u201d even when we\u2019re hurting. But martyrdom is not sustainable leadership.<\/p>\n
You don\u2019t have to prove your goodness by running yourself into the ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n Self-care is vital, but it\u2019s not the only solution. Especially if you\u2019re underpaid, overbooked, or navigating systemic inequities that make it hard to pause.<\/p>\n That\u2019s why we also need collective care\u2014practices that honor community, reciprocity, and shared responsibility. Rest isn\u2019t just personal. It\u2019s political.<\/p>\n Wherever possible, surround yourself with others who will:<\/strong><\/p>\n Check in on you without asking for anything in return<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Respect your time off<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Offer mutual aid or trade support<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Remind you that you don\u2019t have to carry everything alone<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Healing communities are only sustainable when the caretakers are healthy too.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\nHealing Is a Team Sport<\/h2>\n
