Please contact AT&amp;T or Apple if you have questions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While this formal admission will be some comfort to affected parties\u2013since the first step on the road to a fix is admitting that one is needed\u2013the proposed solution may not be viewed kindly. Apple\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macworld.com\/article\/3245812\/ios-27-0-1-is-out-now-to-fix-iphone-18-pro-restart-bug.html\">release notes<\/a> for the iOS 27.0.1 software update do not mention fixing this issue. And many users who\u2019ve encountered the bug explicitly report that updating to 27.0.1 doesn\u2019t fix it.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"jwPlayer--floatingContainer\" role=\"complementary\" data-nosnippet=\"\">\n<\/aside>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem was first reported in mid-September. \u201cNew [iPhone 18 Pro Max] can\u2019t make or receive phone calls or FaceTime,\u201d complained the author of one Apple Support <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com?id=111346X1569486&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https:\/\/discussions.apple.com\/thread\/256360691?sortBy=rank&amp;xcust=1-0-3250214-1-0-0-0-0&amp;sref=https:\/\/www.macworld.com\/article\/3250214\/apple-confirms-iphone-cellular-issue-admits-affected-units-cant-be-fixed.html\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-subtag=\"1-0-3250214-1-0-0-0-0\" data-domain-name=\"apple\" target=\"_blank\">discussion thread<\/a>. \u201cText messages are extremely slow to come through\u2026 It does all of this even when the phone is showing four bars of 5G\u2026 then the phone randomly drops service and goes into SOS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com?id=111346X1569486&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ATT\/comments\/1wn54ip\/anyone_else_getting_sos_on_iphone_18_pro_max_this\/&amp;xcust=1-0-3250214-1-0-0-0-0&amp;sref=https:\/\/www.macworld.com\/article\/3250214\/apple-confirms-iphone-cellular-issue-admits-affected-units-cant-be-fixed.html\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-subtag=\"1-0-3250214-1-0-0-0-0\" data-domain-name=\"reddit\" target=\"_blank\">Redditor<\/a>, meanwhile, wrote: \u201cI got my iPhone 18 on Friday. I have coverage through AT&amp;T. I have been noticing that I have been getting SOS on my phone. Wi-Fi works for the internet but I can\u2019t make calls. Even if it doesn\u2019t say SOS, trying to make a phone call is impossible now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are thousands of replies to these and similar discussions, many of whom confirm they\u2019ve had the same experience. And they are pessimistic about AT&amp;T\u2019s solution. One commenter on the Apple Support thread replies, \u201cI just received a text from them that the latest [iOS 27.0.1] update would fix the problem \u2013 I had already updated to this so I know it isn\u2019t the resolution. This just reaffirms that they have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And while a separate Reddit thread entitled \u201ciPhone 18 Pro Max Cellular Issues: <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com?id=111346X1569486&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ATT\/comments\/1wtd02l\/iphone_18_pro_max_cellular_issues_did_ios_2701\/&amp;xcust=1-0-3250214-1-0-0-0-0&amp;sref=https:\/\/www.macworld.com\/article\/3250214\/apple-confirms-iphone-cellular-issue-admits-affected-units-cant-be-fixed.html\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-subtag=\"1-0-3250214-1-0-0-0-0\" data-domain-name=\"reddit\" target=\"_blank\">Did iOS 27.0.1 resolve them?<\/a>\u201d includes a couple of replies who cautiously think it may have helped, but overwhelming people are unconvinced the issue is fixed:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cHi, it\u2019s AT&amp;T.
