In June I came back to the blog and shared exactly what was on my skincare shelf<\/a>. Three months later, I think it\u2019s worth being honest about how that routine has actually been performing. Not in theory but in practice.<\/p>\n

The short version: it\u2019s working. The slightly longer version is below.<\/p>\n

What I\u2019ve been doing consistently<\/h6>\n

The routine hasn\u2019t changed since June. PanOxyl Foaming Wash<\/strong><\/a> to cleanse, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid<\/strong><\/a> a few nights a week, The Ordinary Niacinamide<\/strong><\/a> daily, Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and Black Girl Sunscreen<\/strong><\/a> every morning without exception. No new additions. No swaps. Just the same products, showing up consistently.<\/p>\n

What consistency has actually done<\/h6>\n

This is the part I want to be clear about because I think it gets lost in the noise of new launches and trending ingredients: consistency with the right products<\/strong> is more powerful than constantly switching to something better.<\/p>\n

Three months of the same routine<\/strong> means my skin has had time to actually respond. The niacinamide has had enough time to work on tone and oil control. The glycolic acid has had enough time to smooth texture. The barrier is calmer. The breakouts are less frequent. None of this happened dramatically. It happened gradually, which is exactly how good skincare is supposed to work.<\/p>\n

What I\u2019ve learned from coming back<\/h6>\n

Taking time away from blogging didn\u2019t mean my routine fell apart, but coming back reminded me why I write about this in the first place. There\u2019s real value in keeping things simple, staying consistent and resisting the urge to add more just because it\u2019s available.<\/p>\n

The honest verdict<\/h6>\n

If you\u2019ve been following along and wondering whether the products I recommend actually hold up\u2026this is your answer. Simple, consistent, mid-range skincare works. You don\u2019t need more than what works.<\/p>\n
