According to TEAMtalk, Anfield officials believe they would be well placed to capitalise if the champions\u2019 fortunes unravel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/HG0ktAAakAAW2jG.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Manchester City Found Guilty of 114 Charges<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">An independent commission found City guilty of 114 financial charges covering alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018. The club deny any wrongdoing and are preparing an appeal, with no sporting punishment yet confirmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Semenyo and Guehi: January 2026 Signings<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Both players arrived at the Etihad in January 2026. Semenyo joined from Bournemouth for \u00a362.5 million, while Guehi signed from Crystal Palace for around \u00a320 million.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Liverpool\u2019s Previous Interest in Guehi<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The Reds came close to landing Guehi in summer 2025, only for the deal to collapse on deadline day. The England defender stayed at Selhurst Park before his switch to Manchester.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Why Liverpool Need Defensive Reinforcements<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Defensive depth is a priority following Ibrahima Konate\u2019s exit, with uncertainty surrounding the long-term future of captain Virgil van Dijk. Guehi, who has made 27 appearances and scored five goals for City, would address that need.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Semenyo: The Potential Mohamed Salah Successor<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Semenyo has registered 19 goal contributions in 34 outings. The 26-year-old can operate on either wing or centrally, and Liverpool are still searching for a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah. Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal were all previously linked with the forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Iraola Connection Could Prove Decisive<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Andoni Iraola, now in charge at Anfield, worked with Semenyo at Bournemouth and oversaw his rapid development. That relationship could give Liverpool a significant edge in any race for his signature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>Appeal Process Leaves Plenty of Uncertainty<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">City\u2019s appeal could take considerable time, and relegation is far from guaranteed given the club\u2019s determination to fight every charge.
