{"id":7073085,"date":"2026-10-02T16:21:17","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T16:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=7073085"},"modified":"2026-10-02T16:21:17","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T16:21:17","slug":"joanna-gaines-reveals-her-new-role-at-magnolia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=7073085","title":{"rendered":"Joanna Gaines Reveals Her New Role at Magnolia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\"><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/reality-tv\/chip-joanna-gaines-sell-waco-texas-castle\/\">Joanna Gaines<\/a><\/strong> may be famous for leading a lifestyle, retail, and media empire with her husband, <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/reality-tv\/joanna-chip-gaines-kids-texas-farm-honey\/\">Chip Gaines<\/a><\/strong>, but the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/tag\/hgtv\/\">HGTV star<\/a> has admitted that even she deals with burnout and imposter syndrome.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">The 48-year-old <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/reality-tv\/joanna-chip-gaines-kids-texas-farm-honey\/\">mom of five<\/a> recently opened up about her new role at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/living\/shopping\/joanna-gaines-magnolia-collection-summer-2026-photos\/\">Magnolia<\/a>, and how a bold decision to switch things up has reinvigorated her <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/reality-tv\/joanna-gaines-grieving-missed-home-time-children\/\">relationship with the business<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">During a podcast interview on the Sept. 7 episode of \u201cJoy 101 with <strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/celebrity-real-estate\/hoda-kotb-reunites-ex-joel-schiffman-daughters-first-day-of-school\/\">Hoda Kotb<\/a><\/strong>,\u201d Joanna candidly spoke about her professional life, noting that just a few years ago, she and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/reality-tv\/chip-joanna-gaines-aging-home-life-kids\/\">Chip<\/a> took a three-month break from work to reconnect with their vision.<\/p>\n<p><iframe height=\"230px\" style=\"width:100%;border:0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/creative\/rdc-ads\/local-listings-widget\/\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Embedded widget\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve been doing this for almost 25 years, and we\u2019ve never really stopped. And about three years ago, we stopped seeing vision,\u201d she recalled. \u201cWe stopped remembering like, \u2018Why are we doing this?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">Joanna admitted that the decision \u201ccost\u201d the couple, as it resulted in \u201cdisappointing\u201d their team, but that it was necessary to find \u201cclarity\u201d and remember what they were working toward.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Boxstyles__StyledBox-rui__sc-1p1qqov-0 cGIhfE sc-1d9c28t-0 dVWipe\">\n<figure><figcaption class=\"sc-1d9c28t-3 kUNXdc\"><span class=\"image-caption\">Chip and Joanna Gaines are giving fans the chance to own a piece of Magnolia history.<\/span><span class=\"sc-1d9c28t-2 nMMWW image-credit\">Christopher Willard\/Disney via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s really grown in such a beautiful way,\u201d Joanna said of her family\u2019s bustling business. \u201cBut the intent and purpose of why we do what we do is to truly make space for meaningful moments in people\u2019s lives and homes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">The brief hiatus wouldn\u2019t be the last time Chip and Joanna would take an honest look at the state of Magnolia to assess what might be missing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">She went on to reveal that \u201csix or eight months\u201d ago, she took on a new role at Magnolia, where she\u2019d long been operating as the CEO and founder. These days, she boasts the title of \u201cpresident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cWhen this <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.realtor.com\/news\/reality-tv\/chip-joanna-gaines-homes-for-sale-fixer-upper-magnolia\/\">\u2018Fixer Upper\u2019<\/a> thing happened, it catapulted me into this creative lane, and I was like, \u2018Oh shoot,\u2019 and for years, had this imposter syndrome that I\u2019m not really a designer,\u201d she said. \u201cBut for 10 years, when you start exercising that muscle and you nurture it, I mean \u2026 creative was what I lived and breathed for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">Joanna explained that she had chosen to \u201clet other people run the operational side\u201d of the business in an effort to prevent \u201cthe knowledge of numbers\u201d from dampening her creativity.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Boxstyles__StyledBox-rui__sc-1p1qqov-0 cGIhfE sc-1d9c28t-0 dVWipe\">\n<figure><figcaption class=\"sc-1d9c28t-3 kUNXdc\"><span class=\"image-caption\">On the new Magnolia Network series, &#8220;Fixer Upper: Colorado Mountain House,&#8221; Chip and Joanna Gaines renovate their own 1960s cabin compound in Colorado.<\/span><span class=\"sc-1d9c28t-2 nMMWW image-credit\">Magnolia Network<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">But when she realized she was lacking vision \u201cfor what is next for Magnolia,\u201d a productive conversation with Chip\u2014and a spiritual experience\u2014changed everything.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">Last year, Chip told Joanna that he wanted her to remember what her \u201cgift\u201d and \u201ctalent\u201d was when they first met while she was working as a \u201cbookkeeper\u201d at her father\u2019s local automotive business in 2001.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cHe was like, \u2018You love the business side, you love the operational,\u2019\u201d she shared. \u201cChip starts challenging me, and I start digging into the operational and business side. So now, I\u2019m in the day to day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">Joanna\u2019s new role requires her to be creative and analytical simultaneously, a balance that seems to have reinvigorated her work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cNow, I\u2019m like, on fire,\u201d she claimed. \u201cThe very thing I was avoiding was the very thing I needed to see the full picture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cWhat I\u2019m realizing is yes, there\u2019s instinct, there\u2019s intuition,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut there\u2019s also data and knowledge. And you bring all of that together, and it creates magic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">While Joanna\u2019s new role has brought positive change, she shared that she still deals with feelings of imposter syndrome.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cTo be completely transparent and honest, I feel like a very little girl at a really big table,\u201d she said, noting that her educational background is in communications, not business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">She even joked that on her very first day in her new role, she was overwhelmed by hearing team members use business acronyms that she was \u201cGoogling under the table.\u201d Now, she has picked up all the lingo and is feeling more inspired.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cI thought this next three years, I was going to step out,\u201d Joanna admitted, noting that she was prepared to let \u201csomeone else\u201d take her place.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Boxstyles__StyledBox-rui__sc-1p1qqov-0 cGIhfE sc-1d9c28t-0 dVWipe\">\n<figure><figcaption class=\"sc-1d9c28t-3 kUNXdc\"><span class=\"image-caption\">Ella&#8217;s fun-filled prom night comes after Joanna announced the launch of a new series, &#8220;Mini Reni,&#8221; which would see her going it alone, without any on-screen support from her spouse.<\/span><span class=\"sc-1d9c28t-2 nMMWW image-credit\">Magnolia Network<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">She decided not to step away, but to dig in even deeper when she had a spiritual experience she described as a \u201cmoment of clarity\u201d in which she felt called to sit at a decorative piano in the Gaines family\u2019s home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cI started playing something with my left and all of a sudden my right hand. I played a song, and I don\u2019t play the piano. I had the chills, and I was like, \u2018What is happening?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">The moment helped her realize that \u201cyou can use your left and your right brain, and you can create beautiful music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">Joanna shared that now she\u2019s in a \u201cnew space\u201d in which she is encouraging her team \u201cto simplify\u201d instead of grow for the sake of becoming bigger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"base__StyledType-rui__sc-18muj27-0 IEPPf sc-7dicpk-0 ccZqsH core-paragraph\">\u201cI don\u2019t know what tomorrow is going to hold.
