I\u2019ve lost count of how many times I\u2019ve been in the club shop at Anfield. It\u2019s fair to say that it\u2019s a very different place depending on whether there\u2019s a game on or not. I have Multiple Sclerosis, so how long I spend on my feet matters to me more than it would to most people, which also shapes how I plan my trips to the home of the Reds.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what I\u2019ve picked up about visiting the shop over the years, including on my latest trip for the goalless draw with Fulham earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Where the Anfield Store Is<\/h2>\n

The official store sits at the Kop end of the ground and was built in 2017 as part of the Main Stand expansion. The club calls it the biggest LFC shop in the world and you have to imagine that they know what they\u2019re talking about. If you\u2019re doing the stadium tour<\/a> at the same time as your visit to the shop, the tour entrance is right across from it.<\/p>\n

After the title win, the shop closed for a refit, and it reopened in the August of 2025 with a bigger mezzanine floor. The approved plans also gave us a wider entrance and extra tills, whilst the stairs and escalator moved to make getting around easier. There\u2019s been a lift up to the first floor for as long as I can remember, which I use every single time I go because it\u2019s easier for me.<\/p>\n

Going on a Match Day<\/h2>\n

For the Fulham game, I got to the shop about an hour and a half before kick-off and still queued outside for around 15 minutes before a steward waved our group in. Every time I\u2019ve left it later, the queue has been longer, so if the shop is on your list, do it first before you do the likes of getting a photo with the Bill Shankly statue or you go to find the entrance you need to get to your seat.<\/p>\n

Inside, it took me the best part of 25 minutes to get around because of the crowds, then another ten at the till when I was buying a training top. If you want to browse properly on a match day in your own time, give yourself an hour, but if all you\u2019re after is a scarf, then don\u2019t bother with the main store at all. The club runs 14 retail pods around the ground on match days and they\u2019re much quicker to buy smaller amounts from.<\/p>\n

Standing for too long is the hard bit for me. The club\u2019s own access guide admits there\u2019s no seating for anyone waiting in the queue. Since every fan started being searched last season, the turnstiles to get into the ground take longer to get through too. By the time I\u2019ve done the shop and got through the gates, I\u2019m definitely ready for a sit-down. That\u2019s something worth bearing in mind if you have mobility issues or someone in your group does.<\/p>\n

Discounts & Bags<\/h2>\n

\"mannequinI\u2019m an All Red full member, which gets me 10% off in the club\u2019s shops. It only applies to full-price items and won\u2019t stack with other offers, which catches some people out at the till, but it still means a bit of money off your shop, especially if you\u2019re buying quite a lot. I keep my membership details open on my phone so I\u2019m not fumbling for them whilst the queue grows behind me.<\/p>\n

The bag rules at Anfield are strict. Only small handheld bags up to A5 get in, but the clear club shop carrier bags are allowed, as long as they only hold what you bought there. My mate Matt learned this the hard way when he\u2019d spent the morning shopping in town, turned up with a rucksack full of stuff and got turned away at the turnstile. He ended up paying to leave it at the bag drop and only just made kick-off.<\/p>\n

Going on a Non-Matchday<\/h2>\n

On a quiet weekday, it feels like an entirely different experience. There\u2019s basically no queue, the staff have time to chat if you want to and you can take things slowly without being bumped every few seconds. Opening hours change from time to time, so check the club\u2019s store finder before you set off.<\/p>\n

Parking is far easier too. Stanley Park Car Park, on the corner of Utting Avenue and Priory Road, is open to visitors on non-match days and has 50 accessible spaces. It\u2019s first come, first served, so get there early. From there it\u2019s a short walk to the ground, but don\u2019t be tempted by the side streets, because they\u2019re residents\u2019 parking only.<\/p>\n

If I\u2019m in town the day before a game, I often use the The Liverpool ONE store on South John Street as the other option. That one is spread over two floors with loads of printing stations, so if you want a name and number on a shirt, it\u2019s a far calmer place to get it done than Anfield on a match day.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
