Mysuru:<\/strong> A three-day Climate Science Literacy Exhibition titled \u2018Understanding Climate Today; Building a Sustainable Tomorrow\u2019 was held at the Mysore Palace recently.<\/p>\n The exhibition was jointly organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Regional Office for South Asia, Hanns Seidel Foundation (Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung e.V.) (HSF) India and the Bherunda Foundation.<\/p>\n The expo featured UNESCO\u2019s climate science literacy posters translated into Kannada, combining scientific information, regional relevance and visual storytelling to create awareness about climate change, its causes, consequences and possible responses.<\/p>\n The event brought together delegates from UNESCO, HSF, NGOs, students and media representatives, along with a 19-member German delegation led by the District Administrator (Landrat) of Landkreis Hof in Bavaria Dr. Oliver B\u00e4r.<\/p>\n Speaking at the programme, MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar stressed the importance of climate science literacy among citizens.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are already facing the consequences of climate change. It is everyone\u2019s responsibility to understand the science behind it,\u201d he said, stressing the need to make students and youths aware of the science behind climate change and the challenges ahead.<\/p>\n \u201cEnvironmental protection is everyone\u2019s duty. We are joint custodians of this planet\u2019s environment and society must cultivate this mindset,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Resident Representative of HSF India Judith Wember-Singh said the Mysore Palace was an ideal venue to create scientific awareness about climate change. The UNESCO team also expressed delight at visiting the Mysore Palace.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have seen Palaces in Bengaluru, Delhi and other places, but the Mysore Palace is truly uplifting. Its art and architecture are inviting,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy said climate change was one of the most pressing issues affecting future.<\/p>\n MP Yaduveer\u2019s wife Trishikha Kumari Wadiyar, SAPA Founder Dina Weber, President of Hof University of Applied Sciences in Germany Dr. Jurgen Lehmann, Managing Director of Bavarian-Indian Centre for Business and University Cooperation Wiebke Dorfler and others were present.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/starofmysore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/news-9a-1024x642.jpg\")
