To see more of our content, set us as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/preferences\/source?q=thegrapepursuit.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Preferred Source in Google<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>        You may be surprised to find out that wine grapes are being grown as far north as Denmark, and one of the reasons this otherwise cold climate is able to ripen grapes is that they are working on unique PIWI grapes that are bred to tolerate the weather.<\/p>\n<p>PIWI grapes take on a number of definitions, but for the most part they are hybrid grapes bred for cold and disease tolerance in cooler climates- like Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>This rose blend from Lindely Vingard featured two such PIWIs, Rondo and Cabernet Cortis, and could hold up with many other bottles of rose we&#8217;ve reviewed on this site to date.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h2><strong>A Delicious PIWI Rose from Lindely<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7981\" src=\"https:\/\/thegrapepursuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Lindely-Rose-2000px-2-1200x904.jpg\" alt=\"Lindely Vingard Ros..e\" title=\"Lindely Vingard Ros..e\" width=\"1200\" height=\"904\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thegrapepursuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Lindely-Rose-2000px-2-1200x904.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/thegrapepursuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Lindely-Rose-2000px-2-768x578.jpg 768w, https:\/\/thegrapepursuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Lindely-Rose-2000px-2-1536x1157.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/thegrapepursuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Lindely-Rose-2000px-2.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This PIWI blend of Rondo and Cabernet Cortis was pale pink orange in color with medium aromas of red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, watermelon, watermelon rind, grapefruit, white blossom, and wet stone.<\/p>\n<p>On the palate, it was dry with high acidity, medium alcohol, and medium(+) body, flavor intensity, and finish with no notable tannins present. We had notes a lot like the nose including red cherry, raspberry, strawberry, watermelon, marmalade, orange peel, and pink grapefruit to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>Other PIWI wines we&#8217;ve had have sometimes come with an unpleasant acid structure, and this one was surprising for being a well balanced wine all the same. Both of these were fairly subtle changes, we admit, as the rose held its character nicely, but we appreciated the flavor spikes with each pairing all the same.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Score<\/strong>: 3 \/ 5<\/p>\n<p><em>We&#8217;d buy another glass of this one.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Overall, it is really need to see PIWI grapes being grown in Denmark, and the fact that this rose could hold up to other more traditional grapes in bottle is a testament to just how far cool climate viticulture is coming. For that, we&#8217;d happily take another glass.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/lindely-vin.dk\/\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">Lindely Vingard<\/a> is located at Sdr.
