The vocal blending is easy to put into a comparison with some of the classics of the late 60s and early 70s.  The overall piano-driven energy of the song, though, continues to bring the energy throughout the track.  The central lyrical them of needing to let someone go to have them come back is a known trope, but has that timeless quality about it because so many of us have had the experience.  I appreciate the Queen-style vocal blending in some parts, creating a lasting sound that echoes the past while creating a new modern identity.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: Until You Needed Money\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"152\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/2Gd0OwQkEWHCgTAWVVlwiD?si=9fdac6cbf6dd4fed&amp;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Stephen Day \u2013 \u201cMama, I Found Your Guitar\u201d<br \/>-I couldn\u2019t believe how much I liked this song right from the first line.  The phrasing is delightful and engaging, pulling the listener into the narrative with this storyline of \u201cmama\u2019s guitar.\u201d  There\u2019s a buoyant energy to the lines that reminds me a lot of what I liked about Rusty Clanton\u2019s music.  Once you get to the transitional sections that feel a bit more experimental, the vibe is at times melancholy and aspirational; it\u2019s about recognizing struggle and hoping for something better.  The emotional focus on the guitar as an anchor amidst the struggle of being a touring musician seems pointed and true.  This is a wonderful piece of art that I hope many, many folks will give a chance.  It\u2019s a track that challenges genre conventions in the best way.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: Mama, I Found Your Guitar\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"152\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/6RJX2kvrbMJP1IYzC5B4iz?si=ef6dc85c9c064de5&amp;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Alyson Witt \u2013 \u201cstay\u201d<br \/>-I\u2019m not sure how many Alyson Witt songs I\u2019ve featured at this point, but it\u2019s getting up there.  Click play on the song and you\u2019ll easily hear why I keep saying yes.  The groove is chill and captivating, while the vocal is smooth and soothing.  The combination makes for a song that is equal parts endearing as it is alluring, begging the listener to lean in and feel the moment.  Something about the gentle piano work here makes the song have that unsettling jazz energy, so that when the melody comes back to the safer chords the listener really feels resolution in an existential way.  The lyrics are about trying to convince someone to stay who doesn\u2019t want you anymore\u2026 and what a foolish decision that is.  It\u2019s ultimately a song about recognizing there\u2019s nothing more you can do when someone wants to leave.  It\u2019s bittersweet, with sad lyrics and a charming compositional style that creates a genuine buzz in the room.
