{"id":7070474,"date":"2026-09-30T22:40:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T22:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=7070474"},"modified":"2026-09-30T22:40:24","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T22:40:24","slug":"robinhood-to-launch-crypto-perpetual-futures-in-the-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=7070474","title":{"rendered":"Robinhood to Launch Crypto Perpetual Futures in the US"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRobinhood&#8217;s crypto perps will cap at 3x leverage on six of the eight coins, with only Bitcoin and Ethereum reaching 10x for American users.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Robinhood plans to launch perpetual futures for eligible US customers in the coming months.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Vlad Tenev said the company is bringing America \u201cits first true perps\u201d in a post on X, adding that profit and loss will settle every 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<h2>Eight Crypto Assets, Up to 10x Leverage<\/h2>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/robinhood.com\/us\/en\/newsroom\/hood-summit-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> the product on Tuesday at its HOOD Summit in Houston. Customers will be able to go long or short on BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK, and HYPE.<\/p>\n<p>A perpetual future is a leveraged contract that tracks an asset\u2019s price with no settlement date, so a trader can hold a position as long as they can cover it. Bitcoin and Ethereum contracts allow up to 10x leverage, while the other six are capped at 3x, and Robinhood Derivatives will provide the contracts through Bitstamp.<\/p>\n<p>Trading costs one basis point (0.01%) per trade through the end of the year, which Robinhood describes as some of the lowest fees in the industry. Furthermore, users can set stop-loss and take-profit orders, watch their liquidation price in real time, and get alerts when a position is at risk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOwnership doesn\u2019t work without markets, and markets don\u2019t work without traders,\u201d Tenev said. The CEO added that Robinhood wants to be \u201cthe best place in the world for active traders\u201d by delivering tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks and quant firms.<\/p>\n<p>The trading platform also introduced an in-app AI tool called Robinhood Agents that will help customers create strategies, research markets and trade within preset limits, while manual trade approval is turned on by default. According to the firm, more than 15,000 users have opened agentic trading accounts since its May launch, with agents using Robinhood tools almost 30 million times a day.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading-4\">You may also like:<\/h3>\n<p>In addition, the firm is bringing earnings contracts tied to company metrics such as revenue targets and earnings results. Those binary options contracts will be offered through Cboe and require options approval.<\/p>\n<h2>Where Robinhood Sits Among Rivals<\/h2>\n<p>The broader derivatives push is not limited to Robinhood. As <em>CryptoPotato<\/em> reported on September 4, Coinbase <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/coinbase-files-with-sec-to-bring-single-stock-perpetual-futures-to-us-investors\/\">filed<\/a> registrations with the SEC to offer single-stock perpetual futures to US investors, although those filings did not guarantee a launch on any set timeline.<\/p>\n<p>Bybit went a different direction on leverage. Its new forex perpetuals, <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/bybit-launches-fx-perpetual-contracts-starting-with-eur-gbp-and-usd-pairs\/\">introduced<\/a> September 8, allow up to 100x and trade around the clock, against Robinhood\u2019s 10x ceiling.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, perpetuals still carry funding costs and liquidation risks, since a position can be closed out when losses grow too large, and Robinhood has also not given an exact launch date beyond \u201cthe coming months.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-12\" style=\"margin: 8px 0; clear: both;\">\n<!-- Footer ad [js] --><\/p>\n<p><noscript><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/servedbyadbutler.com\/go2\/;ID=183000;size=0x0;setID=1321375\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/servedbyadbutler.com\/adserve\/;ID=183000;size=0x0;setID=1321375;type=img\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/noscript><\/div>\n<p><!-- CONTENT END 1 --><\/p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#13; Robinhood&#8217;s crypto perps will cap at 3x leverage on six of the eight coins, with only Bitcoin and Ethereum reaching 10x for American users.
