Well, I just finished <strong>A Court of Mist and Fury<\/strong> by <strong>Sarah J. Maas <\/strong>and my life has significantly improved by it.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/812Iu6GMZSL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"349\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\">In this sequel to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bookprejudice.wordpress.com\/2020\/07\/14\/making-a-tricky-bargain-on-a-court-of-thorns-and-roses-by-sarahj-maas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A Court of Thorns and Roses<\/a><\/strong>, we follow Feyre\u2019s story after the defeat of Amarantha. Feyre had returned to The Spring Court with Tamlin and they are soon to be wed. However, Feyre is anything but well. She is deeply impacted by what she endured Under the Mountain and Tamlin simply doesn\u2019t understand how to help her. Tamlin\u2019s personality showcased it the first part of the book. He is toxic for Feyre and her failing mental and physical health is obvious to everyone but him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\">Everything is changed on the wedding day of Feyre and Tamlin, when Rhysand comes and snatches the bride. And so, Feyre must fulfil her end of the bargain and spend one week every month with Rhysand\u2026 and in my opinion that is the best thing to have happened to her so far.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-3382\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\">I think this book is so much better than the first one. I loved the first one, but this is next level. The world-building is amazing, as well as, character development. I especially liked learning about The Night Court and its rulers. Also, I loved reading how Feyre manages to leave her past behind.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cNo one was my master\u2014 but I might be master of everything, if I wished. If I dared.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\">Every part of Feyre\u2019s character arc is amazing. At the beginning of the book she is broken, unstable, and even though she is surrounded by people who seem to care about her, in truth, she is alone. Tamlin is often away or simply distant and Lucien with him. This leaves her without friends. The servants are too smitten with the fact she set them free from Amarantha\u2019s curse to be able to see her as one of them. The only person she spends time with is a priestess Ianthe who, as we find out later, is an enormous bitch in cahoots with the King of Hybern. And then, Rhysand steals her away. He shows her a world where she is appreciated and valued. A world where she is her own person. And he helps her heal. I love the fact that it wasn\u2019t portrayed as if he fixed her, but he was just there to aid her as she fixed herself.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/m.media-amazon.com\/images\/I\/515sk-V3QDL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"338\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cI was not a pet, not a doll, not an animal.<br \/>I was a survivor, and I was strong.<br \/>I would not be weak, or helpless again<br \/>I would not, could not be broken. Tamed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\">And then we find out they are mated\u2026 I knew it. I suspected it since the ending of the first book, but I didn\u2019t want to hope too much since the <em>\u201cdarker\u201d<\/em> and more <em>\u201cflawed\u201d<\/em> male love interests rarely gets the girl. Thanks to the goddess that is <strong>Sarah J. Maas<\/strong>! I love that they are now together. Their dynamic is amazing, the chemistry is tangible and they simply make sense\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cHe thinks he\u2019ll be remembered as the villain in the story. But I forgot to tell him that the villain is usually the person who locks up the maiden and throws away the key. He was the one who let me out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\">And Rhysand\u2026 Oh, how I adore that man\u2026 I struggle to find the words to describe my feelings. He is charming, charismatic and has such depth. I love that we\u2019re slowly peeling away his layers and getting to know him better.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\">The ending of the book is shattering. I was so afraid that Rhysand would be left thinking Feyre forgot about him. And I am so thankful that that trope wasn\u2019t used. I can\u2019t wait to see how Feyre will manage being a spy!<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-left is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cShe is my mate. And my spy,\u2019 I said too quietly. \u2018And she is the High Lady of the Night Court.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAnd so Tamlin unwittingly led the High Lady of the Night Court into the heart of his territory.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\">I just want to add that I am utterly and completely in love with all of Rhysand\u2019s friends\/family. I have some suspicions about the next book, one of them being that Lucien will help Feyre because of his mating bond to Elain, and the second one being that Cassian and Nesta will be mated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.7;\"><em>To be continued\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Are you enjoying my work?
