For those of you who know me personally you may well be aware my mother-in-law was Irish and over the years my wife and I have holidayed in Ireland. On one of those memorable holidays we visited the Tyrone Crystal factory.\u00a0 I must say it is a gorgeous crystal and delightful to drink out of.\u00a0 Unfortunately it no longer exists which makes our personal collection even more precious.\u00a0 One of our purchases was a very ornate crystal decanter.<\/p>\n

If you check back on\u00a0 my posts you will see that I have tasted the Tullamore due 12 year old single malt and a fine dram it is.<\/p>\n

I came across m this bottle the other day and I was unaware that they actually had a Triple Blend.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s now open the bottle and have a wee taste.<\/p>\n

Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey, Triple Blend, Triple Distilled, 40% Alc\/vol 70 cl<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Colour<\/strong>\u2026Runny heather honey.<\/p>\n

Nose<\/strong>\u2026Nice and gentle on the nose, marshmallow dipped in chocolate, ripened fruits, new oak stave.<\/p>\n

Taste<\/strong>\u2026So smooth, if you add water ensure it is only a teardrop, fruit salad drizzled with runny heather honey, vanilla, passion fruit jelly babies, a full on Caribbean punch, someone with\u00a0a sweet tooth will love this one.<\/p>\n

Finish<\/strong>\u2026Short\u00a0to medium, vanilla and fruit remain in charge.<\/p>\n

This dram is one of the smoothest Irish Whiskies i have tasted so far. Very silky and smooth, just a delight on the palate.<\/p>\n

Now it comes to the price. It is available at many outlets for up to \u00a328.00, but I managed to secure a bottle from my local supermarket for only \u00a318.00 what a steal. I will now be keeping a bottle or two in my drinks cabinet.<\/p>\n
