Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, is a location filled with stories, history, and conflict. But what is Northern Ireland like in the summer? It\u2019s rainy and cold and windy on the beaches. With that said, Northern Ireland is gorgeous, is one of the filming locations for Game of Thrones<\/a>, and it is the home of two UNESCO World Heritage sites<\/a>, Giant\u2019s Causeway and Rope Bridge.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Belfast Like In the Summer?<\/h2>\n

It rains a lot in Northern Ireland, and all of Ireland for that matter, just like Seattle. Make sure to dress in layers, even in the spring and summer months. The photo below, taken in late May, shows how moody the weather can be.<\/p>\n

The photo of\u00a0 Belfast Castle shows the lovely grounds and the hall used for events. The park is a beautiful place to walk, but there are more exciting things to see in Belfast. If you want to take a walk through the city, see the town hall. Visit the Belfast graffiti and street art. The art is leftover from the days of conflict<\/a> in Northern Ireland. I didn\u2019t have time to see street art, and I regret it.<\/p>\n

In Northern Ireland, you will find that the food is comfort food. This earthy leek seafood chowder fed my soul and tummy. I have to say. The food delighted me. By the way, my trip to Northern Ireland and Ireland was the only trip I have ever gained weight on. When I am traveling, I always lose weight. I love Irish food. Take a Tour, See The Giant\u2019s Causeway<\/h3>\n

The Giant\u2019s Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. Located in County Antrim, on the north coast of Northern Ireland, it is definitely worth your time. Irish lore says the rocks were formed by a fight between two giants, which caused the land to erupt and create these strange geological designs.<\/p>\n

In Northern Ireland, See the Rope Bridge<\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve got to be honest. Walking over the Rope Bridge or Carrick-a-Rede<\/a> isn\u2019t my thing. I went. However, heights terrify me. Paying to walk over the historic bridge. It is something to do if you have come this far. Just pay and do it.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t take a walk, although I thought long and hard. I regret I didn\u2019t. Walking is a big part of a great Irish experience. Here is how to get in shape for your trip.<\/a><\/p>\n

Proof I was at the Rope Bridge. After reading the sign and looking, I decided I didn\u2019t need to walk on it. I can say, I didn\u2019t walk over the Rope Bridge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

If you don\u2019t feel comfortable doing anything on your trip, don\u2019t do it. Sometimes, your heart is in the right place, but your head says no. So I say, follow your comfort zone and only do what makes you happy. If you feel you can\u2019t do any event, don\u2019t do it. You don\u2019t have to make yourself uncomfortable while traveling. Remember, make your experience as enjoyable as possible. There is enough trouble in the world. Don\u2019t look for ways to make yourself uncomfortable. If you want to stretch your wings, I\u2019m all for it. But if, when you get there, you can\u2019t do it, then don\u2019t.\u00a0 Be kind to yourself while on your journey.<\/p>\n

While taking tours, having a tremendous time consuming everything new and different, take the time to see the views. One of my most memorable moments was sitting on a rock looking at the North Atlantic. I remember this moment. The moment was one of the most memorable moments of the entire journey. I\u2019ve put my feet in most of the world\u2019s water. This is as close as I got to the Northern Atlantic, in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n
