While the young Barcelonan had recently felt that the trophy should reward <em>\u201cthe best player in the world\u201d<\/em> rather than simply the one who <em>\u201cscored 80 goals\u201d<\/em>the Bayern Munich striker was asked to react to these statements. In an interview given to <em>The Standard<\/em>Kane preferred to remain measured while clearly assuming his ambition: <em>\u201ceveryone is free to do what they want in this situation (in the countryside)\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The England international, author of a particularly prolific season, nevertheless believes that his performances speak for themselves and recognizes his desire to win the prestigious trophy. <em>\u201cPersonally, it\u2019s not in my nature to talk about myself from that angle. I am still very proud of what I accomplished. And, as a matter of principle, I know that my results last year are as good as anyone else\u2019s. So I don\u2019t want to deny them.\u201d<\/em>he explained. Kane then assumed his ambitions: <em>\u201cFrom my point of view it would be amazing to win, I would be extremely proud to win it. \u00bb<\/em> And to add: <em>\u201cI think I have every chance of winning, without a doubt.
