The authorization allows Adobe to buy back up to $25 billion of its own common stock over the next four years, with the program running through April 30, 2030. Adobe said the buyback is designed to return value to stockholders, offset dilution from stock issued to employees, and reduce the company\u2019s share count over time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement came as Adobe\u2019s stock had fallen roughly 30% so far in 2026, with investors worried that new AI-based design tools could erode demand for Adobe\u2019s traditional creative software. Adobe\u2019s CFO framed the buyback as a signal of confidence in the company\u2019s cash flow and long-term strategy. Adobe\u2019s shares rose in after-hours trading on the news.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a company buys back its own shares, those reacquired shares are called treasury stock. Treasury stock is not an asset; it is a contra-equity account that reduces total stockholders\u2019 equity on the balance sheet.
