Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank)<\/strong> marks its 64th anniversary this September, continuing to build on its financial strength to support Filipinos and businesses as they navigate changing needs, opportunities, and economic conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since opening its first branch in Binondo in\u00a01962, Metrobank has\u00a0focused on building a bank that responds to the needs of the people and businesses it serves.\u00a0Over the years, the Bank has expanded its capabilities as the way people save, spend, invest, build businesses, and\u00a0plan for the future\u00a0has changed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past 64 years, we have seen our customers navigate many periods of change and uncertainty. Today is no different. There are challenges ahead that we have to be prepared for, but Metrobank enters this environment with discipline, well-supported by our capital, liquidity, and risk buffers to help us navigate uncertainty and continue supporting our customers,\u201d said Metrobank President Fabian Dee.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur financial strength allows us to continue lending, investing in our capabilities and\u00a0supporting\u00a0our customers\u00a0through different market conditions.\u00a0Ultimately, we\u00a0believe a bank becomes stronger when the people and businesses it serves become stronger, too,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Strong and ready for what comes next<\/h3>\n

Metrobank enters its 64th year with a strong balance sheet. In the first half of 2026, the Bank posted \u20b1<\/span><\/span>24.9 billion in net income and \u20b1<\/span><\/span>3.9 trillion in consolidated assets, while maintaining healthy capital and asset quality that provide buffers against potential risks and room to support further growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Asian Banker has also named Metrobank the Strongest Bank in the Philippines for five consecutive years since 2021\u00a0and has recognized Metrobank as the Best Managed Bank for 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

This strength allows Metrobank to continue extending credit to businesses, financing important milestones for customers, safeguarding deposits, and investing in technology, security, and its people.<\/span><\/p>\n

As\u00a0the financial landscape changes,\u00a0Metrobank continues to\u00a0expand\u00a0the ways\u00a0Filipinos\u00a0can manage and grow their money.\u00a0It has developed capabilities, allowing customers to open\u00a0an\u00a0eSavings\u00a0account\u00a0and access Online Time Deposit, UITFs, and government securities through Metrobank\u2019s digital channels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bank also strengthened its approach to\u00a0financial education\u00a0and security.\u00a0Through the\u00a0Earnest\u00a0financial mindfulness advocacy\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Moneygurado<\/span><\/i>\u00a0docuseries, Metrobank\u00a0helps\u00a0Filipinos make more informed decisions about saving, investing, debt\u00a0management, and financial security, while the Bank continues to introduce safeguards that give customers greater protection and control over their accounts.<\/span><\/p>\n

For businesses, Metrobank provides financing, cash management, investment solutions, and market insights to help them manage day-to-day requirements and pursue opportunities for growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Growing stronger together<\/h3>\n
