The South Luzon leg of the nationwide Hakot Relay series also marked the launch of Puregold\u2019s <strong data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"528\">first-ever 8K Individual Challenge<\/strong>, giving solo runners a new way to test their endurance and push their personal limits.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Frodmagarushow%2Fposts%2Fpfbid037dbsDXwjSKpiDZk3JSUc5D3HQhkuYdAVmzzYFNSNuqKbShgkHH9abFCUytxFMayZl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=800\" width=\"800\" height=\"690\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><![CDATA[<span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">&#65279;<\/span>]]><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"617\" data-end=\"919\">Around <strong data-start=\"624\" data-end=\"639\">500 runners<\/strong> took on the full 8-kilometer course, tackling the challenge entirely on their own before crossing the finish line. The new format added another dimension to the Hakot Relay experience, proving that the event is not only about team competition but also about personal achievement.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"1007\">The distinction between the two race formats was clear.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1009\" data-end=\"1286\">In the signature <strong data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1041\">Hakot Relay<\/strong>, runners formed teams and worked together as they navigated the course while collecting grocery items along the way. Strategy, coordination, and teamwork were key as participants raced to complete their challenge and make it to the finish line.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1517\">The new <strong data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1323\">8K Individual Challenge<\/strong>, meanwhile, put the spotlight entirely on the individual runner. Participants tackled the longer 8-kilometer distance on their own, testing their stamina and determination from start to finish.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1519\" data-end=\"1895\">\u201cWe wanted to offer runners a fresh and enjoyable way to challenge themselves, with the \u2018hakot\u2019 mechanic adding a playful and uniquely Puregold twist to the race. Being part of the running community is meaningful to us, and it is a privilege for Puregold to bring people together for a shared panalo experience,\u201d said <strong data-start=\"1837\" data-end=\"1894\">Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Puregold Senior Marketing Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"2365\" data-end=\"2462\">But what made the Hakot Relay particularly distinctive was the reward waiting at the finish line. Participants in the <strong data-start=\"2484\" data-end=\"2504\">team Hakot Relay<\/strong> went home with a <strong data-start=\"2522\" data-end=\"2572\">Grocery Sling Bag and a Finisher\u2019s Grocery Bag<\/strong>. For the solo 8K runners, Puregold added an extra surprise: finishers had the chance to <strong data-start=\"2662\" data-end=\"2726\">roll home their groceries in a finisher\u2019s grocery cart wagon<\/strong>. It was a fitting reward for a race built around the idea of <em data-start=\"2789\" data-end=\"2796\">hakot<\/em>\u2014run the course, complete the challenge, and bring home something useful.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"2871\" data-end=\"3113\">\u201cWe\u2019re always looking for ways to level up the Hakot Relay and give Filipinos something new to look forward to,\u201d Piedad said. \u201cThis year, this meant introducing our first-ever 8K challenge and bringing the experience to an even bigger scale.\u201d With more than <strong data-start=\"3179\" data-end=\"3196\">4,500 runners<\/strong> participating as either team relay competitors or solo 8K challengers, the South Luzon leg expanded the scale of the Hakot Relay while staying true to the event\u2019s playful concept.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"3378\" data-end=\"3555\">More than just a running event, the Cavite leg brought together runners, families, friends, brands, and communities for a shared experience centered on movement and camaraderie. And at the heart of it all was Puregold\u2019s signature promise: <strong data-start=\"3618\" data-end=\"3678\">race to the finish line and go home with groceries, too. <\/strong>The South Luzon leg demonstrated how the Hakot Relay continues to evolve while maintaining the concept that made it stand out in the first place.
