{"id":7061964,"date":"2026-09-20T09:45:05","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T09:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/uncategorized\/barcelona-loanee-opens-up-after-earning-international-recall-following-two-injury-hit-years-this-means-a-lot-to-me\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T09:45:05","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T09:45:05","slug":"barcelona-loanee-opens-up-after-earning-international-recall-following-two-injury-hit-years-this-means-a-lot-to-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=7061964","title":{"rendered":"Barcelona loanee opens up after earning international recall following two injury-hit years: &#8216;This means a lot to me&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Barcelona loanee Marc-Andre ter Stegen has enjoyed a good start to the new season at Ajax, showing signs of recovering his best level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Germany international had endured an injury-ridden couple of seasons at the Catalan club and had fallen out of favour under Hansi Flick.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Bar\u00e7a<\/em> signed Joan Garcia to replace the German, and the Spaniard has firmly established himself as first choice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ter Stegen moved to Ajax on loan at the beginning of the summer in a bid to play regular football and get back to his best.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He <a href=\"https:\/\/barcauniversal.com\/jurgen-klopp-willing-to-consider-barcelona-outcast-as-germanys-no-1-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has been included<\/a> in Jurgen Klopp\u2019s extended 44-man Germany squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is ter Stegen\u2019s first international call-up in a year.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ter Stegen welcomes Germany return<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As quoted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundodeportivo.com\/futbol\/internacional\/20260920\/1004229298\/esto-significa-mi-he-pasado-ultimos-dos-anos.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mundo Deportivo<\/a>, ter Stegen welcomed his return to the Germany set-up after a difficult two-year period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cThis means a lot to me,\u201d<\/strong> ter Stegen said after Ajax\u2019s 2-2 draw against Excelsior.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cI suffered a lot during my recovery. The way I am treated in Germany also means a lot to me.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A significant step for the Barcelona loanee<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ter Stegen had a difficult evening as the Dutch side were held 2-2 at home by Excelsior, with the goalkeeper enduring an uncomfortable performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Still, his Germany return is encouraging.
