{"id":7061829,"date":"2026-09-20T07:04:57","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T07:04:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/uncategorized\/matthias-jaissle-reacts-to-newcastle-2-1-hull\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T07:04:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T07:04:57","slug":"matthias-jaissle-reacts-to-newcastle-2-1-hull","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=7061829","title":{"rendered":"Matthias Jaissle reacts to Newcastle 2-1 Hull"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Matthias Jaissle has reacted to Newcastle United\u2019s 2-1 victory over Hull City, as we bounced back from Monday&#8217;s battering at Leeds with a much-needed win.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Newcastle raced into a two-goal lead in a fluid first-half display, with Joe Willock and Lewis Hall scoring just four minutes apart before Yoane Wissa failed to convert his penalty to make it 3-0.<\/p>\n<p>Hull rallied with a second-half fightback, making for a nervy end at St James&#8217; Park, but <a href=\"https:\/\/nufcblog.co.uk\/huge-relief-as-toon-hang-on-newcastle-2-1-hull-city-41648\">we hung on for a precious three points<\/a> and our first home win of the new league season.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>&#8220;We survived&#8221; &#8211; Jaissle hails Toon mentality\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Speaking after the game, Jaissle was pleased with the response from his players and believes they deserved their two-goal advantage at the break.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt was a very important reaction from the team. We survived in the end, we suffered a lot in the end. But that&#8217;s normal in football if you don&#8217;t kill the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter Leeds, we wanted to show a reaction in front of our fans, and I think the first half was really good. We were totally dominant in the first half.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe deserved to be 2-0 up. We created chances, we were aggressive, we won duels, and we controlled the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Jaissle then commented on our mentality to see out the game, praising our ability to hold on without nine senior players, while those on the pitch were tiring.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIn the second half we suffered a little bit more. We knew Hull would come back and make it difficult for us. We had to defend with everything we had.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am proud to see the mentality on the pitch until the end, even with tired bodies. This is normal if you can&#8217;t substitute a lot, as we have nine players injured, so that was another challenge today &#8211; but we overcame that.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe boys showed character, especially after what happened at Leeds. It was important that we stayed together and fought until the end.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><strong>A response Newcastle desperately needed<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It certainly wasn\u2019t as comfortable as we may have hoped after such a dominant first half, but it&#8217;s three points secured, a reaction to Leeds and a momentum-builder heading into the international break.<\/p>\n<p>Jaissle <a href=\"https:\/\/nufcblog.co.uk\/jaissle-what-newcastle-must-do-against-hull-to-learn-from-leeds-mistakes-41623\">demanded a more aggressive and physical performance<\/a> during his pre-match press conference, and Newcastle delivered exactly that during the opening 45 minutes, where Barnes, Hall, Steur, Willock and Miley all shone.<\/p>\n<p>Hull made life difficult in the end, but we got over the line to head into the first break on eight points after five games; a solid return given the wholesale changes we saw over the summer.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Matthias Jaissle has reacted to Newcastle United\u2019s 2-1 victory over Hull City, as we bounced back from Monday&#8217;s battering at Leeds with a much-needed win.
