If so, Caspar San Giorgi, 39, has a good start on an artistic career in Great Britain. The Palestinian activist, who is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/news\/churchill-statue-activist-defaced-acquitted-olax-outis\">reportedly<\/a> Dutch and also goes by the name of Olax Outis, took a ladder and a box of spray paint in February to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/man-who-vandalised-churchill-statue-in-parliament-square-found-not-guilty-of-criminal-damage-13586144\">deface the famous statue<\/a> of Churchill in Parliament Square. Despite his admitting to the crime and rejoicing in it, a British jury just found him not guilty in a blatant act of jury nullification.<span id=\"more-249478\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Churchill also observed that \u201carmed with a paint-box, one cannot be bored.\u201d San Giorgi certainly proved that observation. He used red spray paint to write the messages \u201cFree Palestine\u201d, \u201cStop the Genocide\u201d, and described Britain\u2019s WWII leader as a \u201cZionist War Criminal.\u201d He then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cm209zpz484do\">reportedly<\/a> boasted in court about causing the \u00a37,000 in damage.<\/p>\n<p>San Giorgi insisted that he is a \u201ccitizen of The Hague.\u201d The International Criminal Court located at The Hague has declared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal over the war in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>He said in court that this was a message for\u00a0Sir Keir Starmer and Parliament: \u201cIf I had a larger canvas and more time, I would have written: \u2018If Keir Starmer doesn\u2019t come to The Hague, The Hague will come for him.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He told the jury that he was not guilty because he used paint that could be washed off and that\u00a0his protest was \u201cpreventing a crime,\u201d not committing a crime.<\/p>\n<p>San Giorgi remained defiant and proud of his conduct:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cWhether you convict me or not is not too much of a concern for me. Whether I get acquitted, deported, imprisoned for years, I can be proud of having spoken about injustice and I have accounted for my actions. I will accept your judgement.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The jury proceeded to declare him not guilty. It is regrettably a sign of the times in London. Rage has now replaced reason.
