A huge shock for Newcastle United fans when Anthony Elanga was missing at Leeds on Monday.<\/p>\n

A training ground injury and all sorts of rumours flying around, maybe a serious knee injury, possibly out for the rest of the season and so on.<\/p>\n

Having made such a great start to the season, including scoring two cracking goals, major worries on Anthony Elanga.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Matthias Jaissle revealing that Anthony Elanga was going for another MRI scan that day so they could get a better idea of the scale of the injury.<\/p>\n

Matthias Jaissle on the Anthony Elanga injury on Thursday: \u201cNo real update on Anthony. I\u2019ve spoken with him now, he is heading for an MRI scan. We will get more clarity after that, and hope it\u2019s not too serious. It is sad after the great start he had. He is a key strength in our squad and we want to stay positive.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Now on Saturday a huge update on Anthony Elanga from Keith Downie<\/a> who covers United for Sky Sports: \u201cAnthony Elanga is making good progress recovering from his hamstring injury \u2014 and there is hope he could be back after the international break. The Swedish winger missed the defeat to Leeds and won\u2019t feature against Hull on Saturday. Elanga had a second scan on the injury this week but is making progress quickly. He won\u2019t feature for Sweden in their four Nations League matches as Newcastle work on his rehab over the three-week break.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
