The latter are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/news\/161752-pngs-air-niugini-secures-36mn-funding-takes-second-a220\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">due for delivery<\/a> between 2027 and 2029 and will directly replace the carrier&#8217;s ageing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/F000070\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">F70<\/a>s and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/F000100\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">F100<\/a>s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #545454; font-family: PublicSans, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 1.5rem; padding: 0px;\">The pilot arrangement comes as airBaltic undergoes substantial network and fleet cuts, with the Latvian carrier announcing in August plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/news\/170642-airbaltic-to-cut-a220-fleet-to-36-by-ye26\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">reduce its A220-300 fleet<\/a> from 54 aircraft to around 36 by the end of 2026, before gradually rebuilding it to around 40 by 2031.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #545454; font-family: PublicSans, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 1.5rem; padding: 0px;\">Air Niugini disclosed the agreement four days before airBaltic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/news\/171720-airbaltic-files-for-chapter-11-bankruptcy-protection\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">filed for Chapter 11<\/a> bankruptcy protection in the United States on September 14.
