And now begins the real adventure: sourcing
\noriginal vintage Rolex parts. Some will arrive as pristine new-old-stock
\n treasures, others salvaged from donor watches -each piece a tiny
\nvictory. With 50 to 60 parts required, patience is key. Delays are
\ninevitable, and the occasional wrong part is almost a rite of passage.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s all part of the journey. Restoration is never a sprint, it\u2019s a conversation with time itself.<\/p>\n

Yet all this epic restoration could be a piece of cake if Rolex would simply release spare parts to independent watchmakers. <\/strong>There
\n are millions of those spares sitting neatly stacked in Swiss bunkers.
\nAnd if not, all those parts could easily be re-made, distributed, and
\nsupplied. But Rolex won\u2019t budge.<\/p>\n

The hypocrisy and corporate greed of Swiss mega-brands is just pathetic.
\n Not just in the corporate sense, but in their indecency, blaming
\nwatchmakers for a \u201clack of skills.\u201d Ask Rolex, \u201cWhy won\u2019t you supply
\nspares to watchmakers?\u201d and the answer is always the same: Only Rolex Service Centre can service a Rolex watch to Rolex standards.<\/em><\/p>\n

But that\u2019s a lie. As I type this, our team of machinists is making
\nsuperbly complex, ultra-tight-tolerance parts for the space and medical
\nindustries – fields with standards far stricter than anything in
\nhorology. Day after day, batch after batch, we produce those parts and
\nsupply them with full metrological reports as proof they meet every
\nengineering and performance specification. Replacing a worn-out part in a watch isn\u2019t rocket science; it\u2019s just a job for a technician.<\/u><\/p>\n

I asked AI to generate a picture of an old watchmaker screaming \u201cRelease the parts!\u201d
And the image it produced – an old man working in a dim, primitive workshop, fixing outdated watches \u2014 is exactly<\/em>
\n the picture Rolex wants you to have in your mind. \u201cDon\u2019t take your
\nwatch to those old, small, untrained, unsightly, non-corporate
\nwatchmakers,\u201d they say. \u201cThey\u2019ll cause more damage, they\u2019ll fit fake
\nparts, they don\u2019t know what they\u2019re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

How about this, Rolex: just release the parts. We\u2019ll take care of our
\ncustomers to the standards they expect and demand, at a price they\u2019re
\nhappy to pay, with turnaround times in weeks, not months.<\/p>\n

Release the parts – and shut up.<\/strong><\/p>\n
