Now, there are broadly four styles of modern Australian chardonnay: (i) modern cool climate with restrained stone fruits, (ii) very restrained and high acidity expressions of chardonnay with partial or no malolactic fermentation \u2013 these are almost Chablis like, except that Chablis typically undergoes a full malolactic fermentation, (iii) blowsy and (iv) not very good.  This wine fits comfortably within category (ii).
