Another tricky fixture, playing one of the other teams that went down from EFL Championship last season. The start under new manager Aaron Ramsey has been a tricky one, early on a bit below expectations.

Leicester just have to focus on the standards from the Plymouth game, hopefully bring home another win and scoring goals, would set the fans in the correct mood. An early goal must be a target, then Leicester will be capable of scoring more.

A number of new arrivals at the club over the last week, not expecting any of them to start, as the game comes a bit early for any of them to have claimed a place. Expected to see Emil Riis on the bench, other than that this will be very much the same.

The injury to Jacub Stolarczyk, will give Alex McCarthy the chance to keep his place in goal, giving his spot to Franco Ravizzoli on the bench.

We expect no other changes to the line-up, pushing BDCR down in midfield alongside Sammy Braybrooke and Louis Page, who will be of great importance to the build up. Also exciting to see Howell and Alves building up from the flanks.

Leicester played Oxford twice last season, not really much to brag about, losing 1-2 at home, drawing 2-2 away. Just one point picked up in these two games.

The first ever fixture between the two happened in the 1961 FA Cup, Leicester winning 3-1 in that round, and later reaching Wembley, playing Tottenham in the final.

MATCH LINKS: #LEIOXU

Table Position: LEI: 13, OXU: 15

Injuries / Uncertainties / Unavailable / Suspensions: Head to Head: 11v11

Possible Line-Up’s: Predicted Result: 3-1 (Win)

At home again 🤩#LEIOXU pic.twitter.com/M6bgBzu4br

— Leicester City (@LCFC) September 4, 2026

Focus On; Oxford United In Both Camps, Oxford United

Wikipedia: Oxford United Football Club is a professional football club based in Oxford, England. The club competes in EFL League One, the third tier of English football, following relegation from the EFL Championship in 2025—26. Founded as Headington Football Club in 1893, the club adopted its current name in 1960. Nicknamed The U’s, it has played its home games at the Kassam Stadium, replacing its former home of Manor Ground in 2001.

The club joined the Football League in 1962 after winning the Southern Football League, reaching the Second Division in 1968. After relegation in 1976, between 1984 and 1986 the club earned successive promotions into the First Division, and won the League Cup in 1986.[5] However, Oxford were unable thereby to enter the 1987 UEFA Cup because of the UEFA ban on English clubs in European competitions.[6] Relegation from the top flight in 1988 began an 18-year decline which saw the club relegated to the Conference in 2006, becoming the first winners of a major trophy to be relegated from the Football League. After four seasons, Oxford returned to League Two in 2010 via the play-offs, and six seasons later achieved promotion to League One, after finishing second in League Two in 2016.
