Three years ago, I was less than two years into my divorce, navigating life as a single mom, and struggling just to survive.<\/p>\n

Kristofer was a senior in high school. He wanted to swim in college.<\/p>\n

When he started his senior year, we hadn\u2019t started the college swim recruiting process and we hadn\u2019t visited any schools.<\/p>\n

We hadn\u2019t really even talked about college.<\/p>\n

I was an emotional and financial mess, and I was hanging on by a thread;\u00a0I was completely clueless.<\/p>\n

Many of his swimming friends and their parents were sharing commitment posts on Facebook and Instagram, and we hadn\u2019t done a single thing yet.<\/p>\n

Fast forward to today, and Kristofer is in his junior year in college, he\u2019s swimming for a team he truly loves, and he\u2019s genuinely happy at school.<\/p>\n
