\"Feature<\/a>We\u2019re known in the industry for metrics, for methods, and for defining UX research measurement.<\/p>\n

But while we believe in using data to drive decisions, we also know that changing minds is not something you can just enter into an Excel formula.<\/p>\n

Findings are only as effective as the way they are communicated. If the data-analysis tree falls in the forest, will it really make a sound if no one is listening?<\/p>\n

While the data are crucial, your manner of presentation determines whether your insights are absorbed, acted upon, or ignored.<\/p>\n

Some of that happens when displaying the data in graphs, and we\u2019ve previously discussed best practices for graphing and displaying data<\/a>. But we also recognize that the design of the deliverable itself, not just the graphs, makes a big difference.<\/p>\n

The UX research report is one of the core deliverables<\/a> in our field. It can be from a usability test, an in-depth interview, or a survey. Will AI put an end to the much-maligned slide deck? Maybe. Certainly, AI is making it easier to create presentations. For at least the next few months, we don\u2019t see the presentation going away, even if AI generates it.<\/p>\n

And one thing that won\u2019t change is the limited attention span of the readers. They won\u2019t spend as much time reviewing your report as you put into building it. When time is limited and attention is divided (when isn\u2019t it?), visual displays aid in comprehension and retention<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Here are nine ways to make your UX deliverable more digestible.<\/p>\n

A sturdy building starts with a solid foundation. A clear structure makes the report stronger and is essential for guiding the narrative and helping readers follow the information, particularly since a UX researcher will not always be present to explain the content.<\/p>\n
