One of the biggest changes at Disneyland Paris in recent years is the introduction of virtual queues for some of the most popular character meet-and-greets. They\u2019re a great idea in theory, as there is no standing around for hours in line \u2013 I am looking at you, Princess Pavilion. But after three days of trying my luck, I definitely have some thoughts to share!<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 1: Disappointment in Disneyland <\/span><\/h3>\n

I had my alarm <\/span>set<\/span> bright and early to <\/span>try for<\/span> Jack Skellington and the Princess<\/a> Pavilion.<\/span> I was ready, phone in hand, the second the queue opened <\/span>but<\/span> within moments, both were full!<\/span><\/p>\n

Luckily, Darth Vader still had availability<\/span>. We grabbed a slot even though he wasn\u2019t on our original list. It turned out to be one of our favourite interactions of the whole trip. <\/span><\/p>\n

Day 2: A Win in the Studios<\/span><\/h3>\n

We spent our second day in Walt Disney Studios Park, aiming to meet Spiderman and Olaf (please note that as of april 2026 Olaf is no longer a virtual queue meet and greet but has been rotated out for Nick Wilde instead). To our delight and slight amazement, we managed to get both! After the chaos of day one, it felt like a victory, and the whole day ran much <\/span>smoothe<\/span>r<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 3: Disneyland Again<\/span><\/h3>\n

On our final day, we really wanted to meet Jack Skellington and the Princesses. Jack is only out at Halloween and Christmas<\/a>, making him one of the park\u2019s most popular meet-and-greets, along with <\/span>t<\/span>he Princesses. We had a reservation at <\/span>Royal<\/span> Banquet to meet Mickey, so we didn\u2019t have to worry about meeting him in the parks. <\/span>W<\/span>e managed to get Jack in the morning, but the princess slots were full when we tried to grab a slot in the afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

At that point, we were happy with who we\u2019d met overall <\/span>but<\/span> I have to admit, the whole process was a bit stressful. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Reality of Virtual Queues<\/span><\/h2>\n

While virtual queues sound convenient, they definitely control your day more than you\u2019d expect. Once you secure a slot, it dictates where you can be and what you can do. Rides<\/a>, meals, and shows all have to fit around it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

You can join the physical line five minutes before your countdown hits zero, and you have a short window to get there once it opens. Miss it by too long, and your spot is gone. That adds pressure, especially when you\u2019re across the park or stuck in another queue.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

We also noticed that the estimated time countdown isn\u2019t always accurate. Ours jumped up and down quite a bit, making it tricky to plan other rides or breaks around it.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the most stressful times for us was on Day 3. I was in the queue for Pirates of the Caribbean, thinking I\u2019d have plenty of time to be out before the virtual queue opened. However, the queue ended up being longer than advertised. On top of that, the ride stopped briefly while we were riding. <\/span>This<\/span> meant it was going to be super tight to get put in time for the virtual queue opening. And anyone who has ridden Pirates will know that 5G is not available all the way around t<\/span>he ride. So instead of enjoying it, I spent the whole time worrying that we\u2019d miss the virtual queue window. Not exactly the stress-free Disney magic I was hoping for.<\/span><\/p>\n

My Top Tips for Disneyland Paris Virtual Queues<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re planning to use the virtual queues at DLP, here are a few tips I foun<\/span>d <\/span>useful<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Prepare for disappointment \u2013 slots go fast, and even with perfect timing, you might not get your first choice. <\/span>This<\/span> is especially important if you are travelling with toddlers or kids who have their heart set on a specific meet and greet. <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Set an alarm \u2013 be on the page at least five minutes before the queue opens. I stayed on the \u201cSelect Your Experience\u201d page and refreshed the moment the clock turned.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Use mobile data<\/span>, <\/span>not<\/span> Wi-Fi \u2013 I found data connections much more reliable than the park\u2019s Wi-Fi, which can be <\/span>both<\/span> patchy and slow.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Check ride times carefully \u2013 if you\u2019re joining a long queue before virtual times open or near <\/span>to<\/span> your meet and greet slot, <\/span>make sure<\/span> you\u2019ll<\/span> be able to<\/span> access your phone and exit the ride in time.<\/span> Otherwise, you may miss the opening. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Conclusion<\/span><\/h3>\n

    Overall, I\u2019m glad we got to meet everyone we did, and I can\u2019t complain about the interactions themselves. They were fantastic, especially Darth Vader and Spiderman! But the virtual queue system definitely adds a layer of stress and restricts how freely you can move around the park.<\/span><\/p>\n

    If you\u2019re planning your own trip, go in with realistic expectations, stay flexible, and prepare for some <\/span>disappointment<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Times For booking<\/h2>\n

    Queue opens at 9:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily however please check app for your dates astimes may change. Currently Anna and Elsa also have a 8:45am option for times within Extra Magic Time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    April 2026 update<\/h2>\n

    Anna and Elsa have now joined the ranks of characters who require a virtual queue. If they are a priority for your little ones we recommend trying to snag this first to give yourself the most opportunity and avoid disappointment. Anna and Elsa also have a 8:45am option for times within Extra Magic Time for on-site guests. The rest of the day slots open at the regular times.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    Olaf has also been rotated out and Nick Wilde has been added in his place.\u00a0<\/p>\n
