My review and thoughts on\u00a0Meet the Moods<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

This is a great picture book helping children explore their emotions and moods through these characters called the Moods. Have you met the Moods? There\u2019s Happy and Sad and Grumpy and Angry, and so many more. There are lots of different moods and each one is unique but they can all be helped in some way or can help others. This hardback is filled with glossy pages of some fun illustrations and text.<\/p>\n

I like this book which helps kids and adults to explore the different moods they may end up experiencing by seeing them spoken about in this book. There is a brief introduction before each double page is dedicated to a different mood. There are lots of different moods explained including Happy, Sad, Grumpy, Jealous, Angry, Kind, etc., and each different mood is explained in a way that\u2019s easy for children to understand. The descriptions are accompanied with illustrations showing kids the moods as characters who are showing the emotion or mood that they are. Happy is seen enjoying themselves with a big smile on their face, while Sad can be seen lying in bed looking sad. Each mood is different and I like how through the double page it not only explains how a child might be feeling if they are in a certain mood, but also other things, such as explaining that feeling sad can happen for certain reasons, but also for no reason, and how feeling jealous can make others feel bad but also sometimes just makes themselves feel bad.<\/p>\n

On every page at the end of the mood, if it\u2019s a negative one like jealous, angry, grumpy, etc., the book shows how you can resolve this feeling such as talking to someone, while other moods that are positive like Happy and Kind show how those moods are important and how they can be shared. Each double page also asks a question to children reading, asking when they last felt that mood, or how they can help someone else feel better. At the end of the book there are some notes telling children how they can think about the moods they are feeling and some practical things they can do, and there are also some notes for parents about how to help children explore their moods. Overall this is a great book to help children explore and understand their emotions and moods better.<\/p>\n
