Bluntness has always been a part of Post Malone’s appeal. But with his latest single, he’s dispensed with any pretense of subtlety altogether. The track, which features Jeremih and arrived on August 26, 2026, is the title cut from his sixth studio album, August 26. Its title is a three-letter declaration of intent that doesn’t leave much to the imagination.

The song is a direct descendant of the kind of R&B-tinged rap that defined the late 2010s, the kind that Jeremih helped pioneer with his 2009 breakout “Birthday Sex.” Malone, who first broke through with the weed-soaked melancholy of “White Iverson” in 2015, has spent the decade since moving between genres. The collaboration with Jeremih, produced by FKi 1st, captures that cross-genre sensibility perfectly, blending Malone’s raspy, Auto-Tuned delivery with Jeremih’s smoother R&B cadence. The track stays true to the album’s title, a nod to his now-famous “August 26” SoundCloud mixtape that began his career, and it doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is. It’s a moment of unapologetic, tongue-in-cheek fun, a reminder that sometimes, the most straightforward statement is the most effective one.
