One of the great joys of Eastertide is knowing we have fifty days of new beginnings and fresh starts as Eastertide stretches on for fifty days until Pentecost, which this year is celebrated on May 24. I love these glorious spring days, when the farm is green and the world looks new. We don\u2019t need filters on the pictures we take at the farm, because the real life colors of spring are beautiful and stunning all on their own.<\/p>\n

Stillness is a virtue for these days. Not necessarily stillness of movement, but stillness of the heart. How do we find the meditative contemplation of these days? These are days of growing and stretching as we look into ourselves. <\/p>\n

What kinds of stillness are you creating this Eastertide? What kind of space are your creating? You cannot grow new things without space for that soil to germinate. What would you put on your 50 day list that you would like to see grow?<\/p>\n

If you are looking to celebrate Eastertide with your children, here is a list I shared in 2018 and am sharing again for family activities:<\/p>\n

  1. Visit a sheep farm where the sheep are being shorn and then wash, card, and dye some fleece.<\/li>\n
  2. Make projects having to do with sheep \u2013 I have an entire Pinterest board devoted to to wool and knitting\u00a0here<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Spring clean your house (deep clean)<\/li>\n
  4. Get rid of things you no longer use; paring down in the spring feels so good!<\/li>\n
  5. Re-vamp your diet to include even more fruits and vegetables and meatless meals.<\/li>\n
  6. Take great care of your skin<\/li>\n
  7. Cleanse your rhythm from things outside the home that are no longer serving you or your family<\/li>\n
  8. Look at our bee and butterfly friends in the garden, in books, and in crafts. \u00a0There are some ideas on my\u00a0spring Pinterest board<\/a><\/li>\n
  9. \u00a0Clear your life from people who bring you negative energy<\/li>\n
  10. Make time to spend with those you love and trust \u2013 family and friends<\/li>\n
  11. Think carefully about new endeavors. \u00a0What are you growing for this season?<\/li>\n
  12. Find a wonderful new book to read!<\/li>\n
  13. Go hiking.<\/li>\n
  14. Go camping. If your spouse doesn\u2019t like to camp, gather a moms and childrens group to go.<\/li>\n
  15. Spend time in nature every day.<\/li>\n
  16. Add some\u00a0puppetry<\/a>\u00a0to your life<\/li>\n
  17. Try journaling 50 days of gratitude<\/li>\n
  18. Change your priorities so you have time for self-care.<\/li>\n
  19. Slow down and\u00a0rest<\/a><\/li>\n
  20. Learn some beautiful new songs for spring for circle time or to sing as a family<\/li>\n
  21. \u00a0Carefully investigate your spiritual path and find a way to deepen your inner work<\/li>\n
  22. Go easy on yourself and give yourself space<\/li>\n
  23. Find an app to help you meditate or visualize<\/li>\n
  24. Go swimming<\/li>\n
  25. Get a massage or sit in a sauna.<\/li>\n
  26. Spend time with animals.<\/li>\n
  27. Get to know your local farmers and enjoy local foods.<\/li>\n
  28. Create art<\/li>\n
  29. Plan ahead\u2026or not. Whichever brings you joy in your homeschooling! \u00a0Here is some inspiration for\u00a0planning high school<\/a>\u00a0and here is some inspiration for\u00a0planning the grades<\/a>. \u00a0Also, here is \u00a0a whole Pinterest board devoted to the\u00a0\u00a0Early Years<\/a><\/li>\n
  30. Learn some new\u00a0Waldorf verses<\/a><\/li>\n
  31. Pick fruit<\/li>\n
  32. Plant a garden<\/li>\n
  33. Create something beautiful for your outdoor space<\/li>\n
  34. Plan new adventures in travel \u2013<\/li>\n
  35. Have a\u00a0May Day festival<\/a>\u00a0shared with friends<\/li>\n
  36. Plan for\u00a0Ascension Day<\/a><\/li>\n
  37. Plan for\u00a0Pentecost through these musings<\/a><\/li>\n
  38. Make some rock art<\/li>\n
  39. Create, cook, and sing<\/a>\u00a0for Pentecost<\/li>\n
  40. If you celebrate Pentecost as a family, consider a\u00a0gathering for Pentecost<\/a><\/li>\n
  41. Encourage someone or become someone\u2019s mentor.<\/li>\n
  42. Drink more water<\/li>\n
  43. Set up a new exercise plan<\/li>\n
  44. Catch up on your doctor and dentist appointments<\/li>\n
  45. Take naps<\/li>\n
  46. Walk in nature<\/li>\n
  47. Watch a sunrise<\/li>\n
  48. Go slow and enjoy spending time with your children. \u00a0If you are homeschooling, less books and more play.<\/li>\n
  49. Have a picnic<\/li>\n
  50. Dye eggs and try your hand at some\u00a0spring crafts<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I am wishing you all the most amazing Eastertide full of joy and glorious spring moments! Go outside and see that beautiful sky and listen to the chirping birds (my favorite). Looking forward to the rest of April and into May!<\/p>\n
