NewsOnline Nigeria<\/a><\/strong> reports that Financial technology company OPay has dismissed as false a viral notice claiming that it would suspend operations indefinitely from September 1, 2026.<\/p>\nIn a statement shared through its official social media account, the digital financial services provider assured customers that it was not going on a break and had no plans to discontinue its services.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is false! OPay is not going on break by September. We\u2019re here, and we\u2019re going nowhere,\u201d the company stated.<\/p>\n
The fake notice circulating online had advised customers to withdraw their funds, claiming that OPay would stop processing transactions and providing account-related services from September 1.<\/p>\n
OPay highlighted several signs showing that the purported announcement was fraudulent, including the use of an outdated logo, the incorrect spelling of its brand name as \u201cOpay\u201d instead of \u201cOPay,\u201d and a design that did not conform to its official communication template.<\/p>\n
The company urged customers and members of the public to verify information before sharing it and to rely exclusively on its verified communication channels for authentic updates.<\/p>\n
