Bloodlust Storm is the final installment in Luanne Bennett’s Charley Underwood series, and it certainly delivers a stormy conclusion. As the final book, the story was bittersweet, especially knowing that this was my last adventure with characters I’ve come to love.

Welcome to Crimson, Georgia. I’m Charley Underwood—the witch trying to save this town from a magical apocalypse…

When my mother died, I inherited her dive bar and her magic. As well as a duty to protect my hometown from supernatural monsters.

An ancient, bloodthirsty vampire is buried below Crimson. After more than a century, the enchantment that imprisons him is failing. If I can’t fix it, Lazerus Blackmore will rise again… And force us all to kneel before him.

A deadly cult is working to set Lazerus free. Its members have been hiding in the town for years, waiting to strike. Could my neighbors—or even my friends—be taking part in the cult’s dark rituals?

Dark magic is spreading through the streets. As it does, the vampires in town are slowly consumed by bloodlust, turning them to ruthless predators who hunt humans as prey.

I won’t stand by while this ancient evil takes over my home. But as Lazerus finally breaks free, I realize it isn’t Crimson he wants… It’s me.

The Charley Underwood series is a fast-paced urban fantasy that will leave you breathless. With thrilling action, slow-burn romance, humor, heart, and found family, it’s perfect for fans of Kim Richardson, Charlaine Harris and Patricia Briggs.

Charley has come a long way from the inexperienced witch we met in the first book. Throughout the series, we’ve watched her powers grow, and this installment showcases just how powerful she has become. She is tested in ways that push her to her limit. However, she proves that she is more than capable of facing whatever comes her way.

The major threat that has been brewing in the town of Crimson finally comes full circle in Bloodlust Storm. The ancient vampire breaks free from his prison with plans to take control of the town. Now, Charley and her friends must find a way to destroy this threat before it’s too late.

With plenty of suspense, action, and supernatural elements, Bloodlust Storm kept me on the edge of my seat. Secrets and truths came to light, and Charley even experienced betrayal from within her own circle. There was never a dull moment as the story raced toward its conclusion.

I loved every moment of Bloodlust Storm. However, saying goodbye to Charley and the rest of the cast was definitely bittersweet. Not everything went the way I hoped, and one particular situation left me feeling genuinely sad. I would love to see a spin-off that explores what happens next and perhaps gives that situation the happy ending I was hoping for. One can only wish!

Overall, Bloodlust Storm was an exciting and action-packed conclusion to the Charley Underwood series. Readers who enjoy urban fantasy filled with witches, vampires, supernatural battles, suspense, and plenty of twists will definitely get a kick out of this series.
